It may have already started an insurrection; who knows?

Heh heh, become Palpatine. Goad everyone into fighting, then take over everything yourself and make your own empire.

Gave up on trying to get a library to spawn for a while, trying out more dances.

Walk into a keep in a big huge town, figure I'll throw down with some sweet moves and make a name for myself.

...uh... wait, did that say human vampire?

Then who is this guy?

What the shit?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ended up ruining that town for me because I accidentally punched someone that everyone loves... wouldn't be so bad but I punched them in the brain. Been running around with a hyperspeed buff on so I can deal with the lag in fortresses and try out all sorts of shit... and it backfired.

It was inevitable.

So, anyone seen whether books can be found in tombs? There's one near this hamlet, I might go tomb raiding. I doubt my kobold swordswoman has the figure to be a tomb raider though. o3o

(there's another half page below that)

Lots of mummies, be warned. They're WAY more prevalent than they used to be.

I started out in a heavily-populated dwarf fort and the FPS SPF is something terrible. :v

Oh fuck yes. I might have to order my groupies to wait outside, is easier to sneak in that way.

Yeah. I averaged around 10 fps in the deeper more populated parts of a fortress I explored. Had an absolute fustercluck of stray horses and stray cats hanging around though, so I can see one cause of the problem. I think another issue is the masses of conversations being calculated in meeting rooms. And the pathing for all the dwarves and animals, of course.

Not nearly as bad as when I tried exploring a goblin dark pits. As soon as I entered the site of the dark fortress in the middle of the pits, my fps plummeted to 2. And I hadn't even seen the fortress yet. I was still in an open empty field.

Turns out you can seriously not notice how deep into this shit you went until you get out.

The local library is so horribly crowded that one frame takes about 8 seconds of real time.

I suspected that this was because the scholars were having an intense philosophical debate upon nothing, and Lo, I was proved right: I found an interesting book touching on the profound wisdom enshrined in my sig.

Indeed, dwarven philosophers know that nothing is the source of all great things.

Two-handed swords are underwhelming. Damn.
They're pretty dang effective if you're a legendary death machine with assloads of strength and agility so that you can still hit while wearing a shield.

Otherwise yes, two-handed weapons are pretty damn terrible.
I wouldn't say that. They're awesome for anyone with more than two arms. My jumping spider woman adventurer rocks out pretty well with an exceptional bronze two-hander and a steel shield, with a basic copper dagger in the off-shield-hand for good measure. I wonder if that particular quirk got her the nickname "The Adorable Dagger". :P
