42.XX Adventure thread

Alrighty, with the hype train on the tracks, figured with my love of adventure I'd make a thread.

Just started it seconds ago, already some noticeable differences.



Intelligent Wilderness Creature? Let's try that...I'll keep you guys updated.

EDIT: Holy smokes, that opens up an entire menu.





Playable plump helmet man? YES.

EDIT2: Went for the obvious bard setup, with some combat skills for self-defense



Everything looking normal so far, except for the map screen, which is new I think



And...What's this?







Holy shit, you can actually edit your character's actual personality now, including life goals.

EDIT 3: I made a fatal mistake.



Tragically, all of Zon's aspirations are crushed as he realizes he cannot speak.





So he decides to compose a poem and a musical composition. The poem is of mediocre quality, but the musical composition turned out great. When composing, it actually goes into the same "hours pass" screen like when you sleep/wait.

EDIT 4: Zon is dead. Picked a fight at a drinking mound, unfortunately misestimated the fragility of his body and was pulverized.
Time to make an adventurer who actually CAN speak.

This is so cool! I entered a tavern and preformed a dance. A nearby bard made fun of my performance but a nearby speardwarf was impressed. Though he did get bored after a while and asked me to do something different.

Then I tried a two person dance and a local marksman started dancing with me. The bard still won't stop making fun of us though. :(

I now want someone to make art of Zon holding his hands around where his "mouth" should be as tears well up in his eyes.

Also, Aba doesn't exist - game crash after trying to move.


Two new menus when talking, also "trade" is renamed to "trade and settle debts", something I'll have to look into later on


The whole values thing leads to a really...erm..."insightful" conversation




Unfortunately, the game crashed again shortly thereafter when I went to a town in search of a tavern, which do not appear to be marked with a generic "Tavern" marker on the fast travel screen but instead have titles, the same way temples, mead halls and keeps do.

Started as another bard in the same town where I left off, told a story about the marriage of the town's lady. Seems like the folks in the keep enjoyed my story telling, although the lady herself seemed to be conspicuously silent about the whole thing.

When performing compositions it always gives a lengthy description of it:


Yes I specifically chose the one where the composition is "atrocious".

Everyone had basically the same reaction to the whole thing.

Adventurers kinda always had a personality, but you couldn't see them in adventure mode.

I was able to pick a Gorlak from the first screen.

Are the first screens reserved for civilized animals and creatures do you think? And then the 'Intelligent Creature' one reserved for all of them, even if they do not exist? Similar to the previous version where it would spring a creature out of thin air if there were no civs for it.

Created a character that dreamed of making a huge discovery, so before deciding to seek out wondrous things, I was hoping to begin my epic adventure by writing something on the peak of a mountain.
Sadly, I had no writing utensils and thus settled for creating a shoddy musical composition, but it's still pretty badass. I'm like musical Moses!

Anyway, my adventures aren't done. I plan to descend from the mountain, teach the locals my song, and then set out for more interesting things.
