How do we deal with the wererats?

Scare them into the deeper parts and cave in parts of the cavern, sealing them in
Take out their leaders and try to convince them to surrender
Slaughter them all
Ignore them and look elsewhere

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

((I only have access to that with apiks, Dw4rfY and Mastahcheese (who's still sadly MIA...), so I don't.))

((We should maybe think about autopiloting him if he isn't on in another day or so.))

I'll post when j can, but I don't know if I'm done having the flu yet...))

((Hope you feel better soon indeed. Post when you're up for it, if nothing else it gives USEC a bit more time to beat the autopilot switch. ;) ))
((Sadly, it doesn't seem enough time. Still sore as hell, but I'm able to type and think creatively enough to post.

How the auto-pilot will work in this is simple: they'll be the ones who wait behind and do things when the party isn't there. This allows them to drop in/drop out at any point in time and allow waitlisters to come in. HOWEVER, I will bring in waitlisters after a player goes on autopilot for a week. So no more "USEC gotta go, we gon' take 'is 'ead off and feed 'im to a nasty ting'" or extended periods of time with me playing their characters. It's going to be more work on me, but I'm willing to put it on. Its not like Mastahcheese with a game with 50+ people...

This also means, I'm expecting a character sheet from Flying Dice within that week's time if they're still interested *hint-hint, nudge-nudge, say no more, say no more*))

Mauricio looks at James strangely and his eyes turn to a soulless, empty blue and emanate a small amount of light and heals the remaining amount of people. With the most able bodied, they get to work quickly and start to use the spare oars to move. Within minutes, you make it back to shore with one extra boat (but sadly, one less set of oars). Kylie drapes a blanket over James as they approach land, and Kylie tries to figure out the reason for Mauricio's glowing blue eyes but lacks the knowledge to do so. ((Knowledge arcana required))

Taking inventory of what is actually on the ship, you notice that this ship seems to have an excess of tools, such as hatchets, pickaxes, chisels, hammers (?) and a few weapons (two shortswords, a rapier, a shortspear and a javelin. All of which could use some maintenance (they give -1 to attack and damage rolls)).

When you make it to shore, several people come out to help bring the ships in, and several people on the ship start to unload what they have. You also note from their stores of food, they were just about to run out in another day or two if you rationed it to just enough to last.

After unloading, moving the ships back closer inland, some of the people were waiting on the shore come out to help out the mildly wounded newcomers. ((Considering the only person who would benefit from some of this info is MIA, any details or notice of details will be sent to Hanzoku directly until USEC returns)).

By the time everything is unloaded and put into the caves, the place seems a bit more crowded, and the others make it back within an hour afterwards (just in time for dinner). However, those marked as guards (the woodcutters and the two ex-guards) now have weapons they can use somewhat. The ex-guards take the shortswords and the woodcutters take hatchets.

((I'll give an entire list of everything you guys have when I have everything written down in stone. Its not majorly important right now, but it will be documented))

Kylie pulls James off to the side during this time that it takes the others to return to speak in private at the back of the caves with the animals (and where James just so happened to bathe). Regardless of the struggle you put up, she grips you tightly and essentially drags you there ((Incoming messages))

((All I have to do is smile at Kylie, she'll go weak at the knees, and I'll know all :D))
((Assuming that you triple crit again))

Mauricio sits in the corner, with the odd person coming up to him and seeing if he's alright, but the empty lifeless gaze stares on into what appears to be nothing but abyss.

James and Kylie return after awhile and James looks more cleaned up and refined coming back than going in.

Again, within the hour, Arioch, Ritiki, Martijn and Ewan return, which by then marks the dinnertime. The four of them are greeted with a more crowded cave, a woodcutter with a hatchet and an ex-guard with a sword standing near the cave entrance with a few others running around carrying tools of their preferred trade. Some of the people look a little banged up, but nothing more than what time can heal by itself. Some people look worse for wear, but for the most part, everyone seems ok.

Ewan calls another meeting with those able to attend from the last meeting. Upon seeing Mauricio unmoving other than to eat and drink, he looks worried.

"I'm terrified to ask what happened to him, but I can tell by the expression on people's faces seeing him that no one has a bloody clue. Its good to see more people made it here, and it will be good news to you to know that we have successfully gained favor with the Red-Moon clan. They gave us a map and some daggers to help deal with the lycanthropes that turn hostile.

Arioch, show them."

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"I'm going to be honest, I'm not the best in deciding the best place to inhabit, so I will let you decide where we go."

((I will keep Kylie's vote as a tiebreaker, mostly because I really don't want to say "go here! It's good!". Do remember you have 4 boats, one of which has no oars, and a decent sized population with tools and a lot of livestock. You also need to figure out HOW to get everyone/everything there or what to leave behind))

"See those plains north of the forest with the 'S' on it? I reckon it's the perfect position to settle on one of its banks. We can get there by traversing the outskirts and eventually the two-forked rivers. There we have both water and wood closeby, as well as land for pastures. The river would also provide a natural defensive mechanism and trade by the river would greatly affect us later on."
