Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.

((I've had an arrow split apart on being fired before. Generally speaking, in real life you shouldn't get pieces back in your face, as the force of the bowstring is propelling everything away from you, whether or not it stayed in one piece.

I've also had a friend draw back his longbow to fire, only to have it go break towards the middle and go to pieces in his hands. He was luckily alright, but losing a bow worth 200-300 euros was a shame.))

((It was either that happened or Ritiki would have to deal with potentially dying in the first encounter he's in. Or as you said, break the bow or bowstring. I settled with a busted arrow and a slap to the face))

Move up to be beside Mauricio. Throw dagger, aiming for eyes, at nearest badger. If I have enough actions, use slingshot to eyes as well.

Move up to be beside Mauricio. Throw dagger, aiming for eyes, at nearest badger. If I have enough actions, use slingshot to eyes as well.
(3+4-5+1) Your dagger misses completely, landing harmlessly on the ground past the two badgers.

You move in and fire your crossbow. (14+1) Your bolt strikes him in the side and it roars at you as he takes (5) damage!

The big angry badger leaves his prey and runs at Mauricio and bites at him! His teeth sink deep into you, dealing (5) damage! Mauricio has 1hp remaining!

Varg charges the badger and swings his axe! His attack lands, dealing (10) damage! The badger looks to be in bad shape!

Mauricio begins his turn!

Move back 4 squares and fire at the Badger in melee with Varg. Enjoy +1 to hit and damage, and a distinct lack of penalties for firing into melee.
