((Yup, just had that whole sleeping thing in-between. Jehane most definitely put the headband back on - before coming in sight of the boat. Sharing it with people she is starting to trust is one thing, she still has her reasons not to flash it around for the world to see.))

Jehane tracks down Kylie and fills her in on what happened, the two sharing a small laugh over Arioch's stunned response to the fact she was a woman. After catching up, she looks in on the scarred woman and any others with injuries, picking the worst three and casting her healing spells for the day on them.  When she gets a chance, she asks Ewan to step towards the back, where the animals are held.

Once their conversation is somewhat more private, she looks Ewan in the eyes, reptilian eyes intent.


"Does this mean anything to you?"

You recall healing Jens when she had landfall because she looked hurt the most. The wounds on her face closed up, but her scars may never go away. For the most part, everyone seems to be healed if they weren't healed before (thanks to Kylie and Mauricio).

Kylie is happy to see you're trusting people, and goes about helping with butchering the animals.

You take Ewan to the back and say the war cry. He shakes his head.

"I have never heard of it. If you think I would know it from being with Iscaaria, I don't. I was born there and I left their army before they could force me into it. I'm ashamed that my fighting techniques stems from there. I left when I was barely older than you. I was 17 years old and was sent to the front, and I instead helped several people escape their wrath. I saw what they did, and I knew, that no noble divine being would allow for such a thing to happen. I don't know how they get their powers, or how they justify it, but they sicken me.

You need not worry about my days of youth. That was roughly thirty years ago. I have spent most of my days trying to find a way to steer clear of them and fighting very little. It is why I am not the best fighter. I was lucky to have spent most of my years as a sailor, as they aren't a strong naval force yet. And I hope it stays that way; they won't find us if they can't figure out how to cross an ocean. They're warriors and priests, not sailors or farmers.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say they hurt you directly, if you were worried enough to drag me off to the side here and discuss this with me."

Jehane offers Ewan her hand "We don't choose where we are born, and you have made a good life for yourself. There are Iscaarians I will happily kill with a song on my lips, but that will be for what they did to my nation and the people who lived there."

"The accent doesn't come up often. And I'll be the least of their worries. A few of the folk here are also refugees from their conquered states, and they have it as well. They seem to be willing to help, as the others are.

If the Iscaarians come here after us, then I assure you, I will not let them harm a single one of these people. I only hope I can rely on you and the others to aid me if they send their strongest at us."


Ewan shakes your hand before getting up to talk to Kylie about Mauricios actions for the day.

Dinnertime comes around, and everyone is happy to have something more than just badger meat this time, now that the herbalist and a few others found some edible greens to eat.

Night falls and the party starts to rest for the night, some of you taking watch ((randomizing who's going when))

The night passes, and the party (and everyone in the cave) is awakened to the sounds of many loud squeaks as, during Kylie and Martijn's shift, three dire rats and a swarm of rats come in from the ceiling of the cave entrance where it is uncovered. Kylie, with her weapons still sheathed, starts to panic and screams.

Martijn begins the initiative order. There are three dire rats in front of you and a swarm of rats. ((I didn't have time to make a map yet, but the rats are 10ft from you and the swarm is right behind them))

He moves as far back as possible, dragging Kylie and drawing a dagger as he moves.
You pull her back 30ft and draw a dagger.

Kylie panics and casts a spell, summoning a Pony in between you and the rats.

The dire rats all move in and attack the pony. (?) (?) (?) Only one manages to bit onto it and deals (4) damage to the pony.

Ritiki awakens quickly and acts first. You're 80ft from the entrance, but you can't see anything, but you hear dire rats biting something that sounds like... A horse?

You do so.

Ewan stands up and moves to the entrance as well, though he is now 90ft from the entrance.

The swarm moves up and surrounds the pony. It uses its hooves to try and stop the rats, but it fails to do so. The rats start crawling up the pony, ripping its flesh off as they start biting it over and over, dealing (3) damage. The pony looks worse for wear, and the pony gets very sick and is barely alive. Kylie looks horrified as the poor horse is torn apart.

Varg awakens and turns to wolf form and moves up, being 100ft away from the entrance caves.

James Jehane awakens to a wolf racing past her. You are 110ft from the entrance of the cave.

Jehane starts awake at the growing sounds of combat and panic, eyes seeing the wolff clearly in the dim light. She storms to her feet, regretting that scale isn't worth sleeping in. Grabbing up her sword and buckler, she raps out a few orders to those around her before running for the entrance, casting Light onto the sword.

"Light the fires, prepare torches! Militia, get armed and bring the torches to the front!

Light on the Longsword - 2x duration, 2x radius, move towards the front at best speed - at least I move 30' this way.

You do so. You're 80ft away. The light awakens a lot of people and stuns some of them, but they scramble.

Arioch is awoken by the light and people shouting and the sound of a horse whinnying in pain. You are 70ft from the entrance

An annoying sound keep seeping into Arioch's ears. What in the blazes is it? Moments later he hears the watch give off alarm.

Arioch goans and gets up and starts barking orders.

"Everyone, deal with the big rats, Do not get close to the swarm and try to shoot or burn them from afar. Just don't get bitten, it doesn't look healthy."

Cast Grease on the swarm.

You summon Vorlak and he appears, looks around him and shakes his head as you move ahead. You are 50ft from the entrance, and you still cannot see anything yet.

"Master, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"

((I should mention that when I say the distance away, that s the distance of actually being able to see the fight take place. Sorry for any confusion))

Martijn begins his turn. You hear more rats outside the cave as well

((shit, I forgot about him as I was making the map, and I misread the rules. Its gonna take you ten rounds (1 minute) to summon him, but I'll just rule it that since you literally just swapped shifts with Martijn, he hasn't been fully dismissed. He's gonna still be out))

Vorlak stops fading out of reality and manifests fully and double moves to the fray. He is right around the corner where Martijn and Kylie are.
