Assuming Thoven has the move for it, he legs it to G12 and attacks Bandit C.

The Dire Wolf then runs over to F13 and chomps on Bandit E.

"But think of the praise if you were to defeat us on your own! Probably even enough to start a better gang, an organisation! A group to be respected an feared, all of its own regard."

"...A share of the glory...no, all the glory! But, I can't afford to lose...no, cannot, the stakes...too high...what to do...I suppose I can cut down one of these louts myself, and Chomper will eat the rest, except for the pretty one...which one should I start with...which...one...this one in front of me? This Elf? He looks...fragile...single combat! How thrilling! It's been so many years..." The Tiefling comments, growing excited at the prospect of battle.

The spell is beginning to lose potency as her emotions begin to roil.

"Perhaps, just you and Chomper, no lackeys, that would be a true fight, yes?"

The woman seems to snap from her reverie, engaging Ayra directly.

"...How about just you and me dance? If you fell me, the day is yours, is it not? If.

Chomper can...entertain your friends while we fight. I'll let no one interfere with either of our separate battles."
The Tiefling asks, quirking an eyebrow.

"And, when I beat you into the ground, I'll offer reasonable terms of surrender. Most of them involving a one way trip through Chompers digestive system. Though I suppose you would make a handsome trophy for my boudoir...if I don't get the other one, anyway....

Do you agree to the terms, ser?"

[Ayre Perception roll=?]

Ayre feels that while she has been perhaps enticed to call off her men for now-the excitement in her tone suggests no less-she is still very afraid of something...and will likely call them to attack, is she is in any danger of losing the match. She is no doubt quite unscrupulous.

Ayre takes a step sideways to E4, disguising the motion as he draws his quarterstaff into a two handed grip.

He gestures at E1, as if requesting she moves there, facing him.

"I accept. Come and face me, one on one, and call off your men. We don't start until you do."

Ayre suspected she might not honour her promise if the going got tough. Then again, he had no intention of doing so either.

Despair's voice rings through the unlikely arena.

"Alright, everyone-back off! We're going to settle this in a...civilized manner. All of you louts, stand down Me and him in one corner, and the rest of them and my beloved, Chomper in the other.  Winner takes all...losers die. Those are the stakes we fight for-down here in the gutters, guardsmen, there's no backing down from a challenge. Do you understand the wages of life and death? I guess we're about to see!" She says, a small bit of performance theater-really, she's quite impressive.

The Thugs warily back away, lowering their weapons...

The snorting and thudding from the far door becomes louder and more ominous!

Tessele backs down, warily leaning on her weapon, watching the fight.
She prepares the following actions:
IF Ayre's Temporary HP equals 0 AND Tessele's Superiority Dice remaining is greater than 1, Tessele gives Ayre words of encouragement, Rallying him.
ELSE, IF Despair breaks her promise OR Ayre drops to 0 HP, Tessele charges in, Action Surging, Second Winding, and Disarming Striking Despair.

A colossal creature thuds out the door towards the party. It resembled a dog, once; two heads slobber and snarl, one studded with milky-white eyes that stare out, the other completely hairless and covered in green pustules. The creature is much larger than an ordinary dog, much of it naked of fur and erupting in vile sores and glowing boils.

Four nostrils snort as it draws in wheezes of air, before it howls - a deafening bellow that leaves your ears ringing.

Meanwhile Despair vaults the bannister of the upper level and charges towards Ayre. She brings her sword down in a heavy swing! The attack rips across his chest, sending him back.

"AHAHAHA! Regretting this already?"

Ayre casts Shillelagh as a bonus action, bringing his quarterstaff swinging round at Despair's knees, below her shield (+5, 1d8+3 bludgeoning). He simultaneously steps back to E4, trying to keep near the shelf.

"Not quite yet. Though I like your pet. How did you train him?"

"Not quite yet. Though I like your pet. How did you train him?"

"You don't train an animal like him. You have to create it...and, like any work of art, the creation can be...painful." The Tiefling says conversationally enough, her eyes glowing brighter now-like embers in the gloom of the warehouse. Ayre watches her move, and she watches him. The dance. Despair seems to be holding back her emotions, at the moment-every movement of her lithe demonic body suggests a barely restrained power, just being held back by the lightest of yokes. Her breathing is fast, eyes dilated. Her tail switches back and forth-faster and faster. She projects calm outwardly, but underneath the skin...

"He was a runt...poor creature. He would surely have died in the dog pits if I hadn't saved him...like I would have died, if I had been weak...! I rescued him. And I made him better, tougher, stronger! He killed all the other fighting dogs in the kennel one night, and after that I knew he was perfect for my designs...in the pits of Hel they call what I have performed Fleshcrafting-a little bit of magic, alchemy, and daemon ritual is all-to create new, amazing life. Ha! My father would never gift me one of his prize Hellhounds, so...I made my own. To spite him...to honor him. To bring a bit of Hel to Earth.

Can you guess what my father said, when he first saw him?"
She asks, her mouth opening slightly. Her entire body freezes. A lioness before the pounce.

"Hi, daughter?"

It was probably a poor idea to push her, but Ayre had never been one to hold his tongue.

"But surely such a delightful creature couldn't have been tamed by kindness?"

She seems more than confused, than angered.

"Kindness is for humans...do I look like a human to you?" She says, almost thoughtfully-in truth, Ayre notes Despair seems to be mentally judging the distance of her blade, to it's intended entry point in his face.

"...He didn't say anything. His bastardy is beneath his regard, though not his contempt...you have to earn his attention. Through brutality, mercilessness, cunning, bloodlust-like, with what I'm about to do to you would qualify. Say, if you wouldn't mind holding still for a moment?" She says, sarcasm dripping, already in a blur of motion.
