Cirila moves forward, preparing herself for combat.

Besides her, Tessele strides boldly forward, and hurls a javelin at one of the thugs!

The missile flies forward and strikes the flatfooted bandit with ease. The missile thunks meatily into his stomach, but he makes a noise between a growl and a gurgle and tears it out, tossing it to the side.

Ayre moves in and, pointing a finger, sends a tendril of drifting mist... it flows towards the bandit, but he ducks out the way of the questing mist.

Tirion shows vague tactival awareness and moves behind cover. From a nearby shelf, a tiny fae cries plainatively at him.
Hey! Big-big! Let me out, I can help-help!"

For a standard action, you can open an adjacent fae jar. It might, however, be difficult to know what you'll get, if you don't have knowledge in matters arcane...

Dench stands still like a lemon (not that anyone here had ever had a lemon). Perhaps he'd banged his head harder than he had thought...

Thoven also heads into the building.

----

The bandits move!

Bandit A charges at Tessele, scimitar raised, but she swings at him with her maul. It smashes into him with brutal force! He tumbles limply to the ground, chest caved in. The other bandits respond with cries of anger and curses!

They run up, taking cover behind the shelves. Two of them hurl daggers while one fires a crossbow.

Bandit B hurls a knife at Ayre. Ayre ducks it without issue, and the weapon clatters off the wall.

Bandit E chucks one of his own blades at Tessle, seeking revenge! . His knife goes wild, bouncing well short on the floor at her feet. The bandit looks vaguely ashamed of himself.

Bandit G however raises and fires a creaky-looking crossbow. The bolt flies out towards Tessle! It also misses by a wide margin, thudding into the shelves behind. One of the Fae in the jars squeaks in shock.

A loud voice belows from the loft up the ramp.

"Hey! What are you gits doing?"

Tirion moves down one and unscrews the jar. Maybe it could help!

Tiron moves over to one of the brightly glowing jars and pops it open...

D10=6

Strangely, the creature that emerges seems to resemble more of a lizard, than the fairy of classic lore-a sprightly, humanoid-shaped female figure, it has no wings-instead clambering about on four clawed, webbed limbs. The Sprite regards the guardsman with large, multifaceted eyes, in the colors of glittering jewels.

Tirion hears a tinny voice like a cracking campfire as the fey speaks to him.

"Ti'arh ilai, suhurs! I azu ilai i'a sus a aras!" She says, raising her claws menacingly, then pointing them at the bandits. She then indicates that Tirion should pick her up, though the being is very hot to the touch-he can feel the waves of heat, even from a few feet away.

In a few moments, however, he is welcome of the warmth...

...

F10, open jar.

d10=9

Cirila's own hand settle on a jar that's icy cold to the touch-the glass sides of the jar are so frosted over, she can barely make out the being inside...and, unlearned in magic, Cirila does not note the heavier magical protections placed on this beings prison...

Cirila is chilled to the bone at the fey being that emerges from it-a cold wind begins to blow around the room, the lights dim, and she makes out the figure of a small, perfect humanoid-like a tiny princess, wreathed in a long, flowing dress of what looks like liquid ice (which leaves little to the imagination)-she even has the chip of a sapphire that serves as a crown, and a needle sized scepter topped with a razor sharp snowflake...despite her pale skin, her eyes glow like dark red embers-and her voice seems to possess haughtiness, rage, and cruelty magnified to fit a being of a larger size. Unfortunately, her anger seems to be directed at Cirla, her 'rescuer'.

"...You! You are all beasts! You dare to imprison me? To feed off my power? Now I am free, and you shall all suffer by my hand! Perhaps you hoped I would be merciful if you freed me? Perhaps you hoped I would lead you to great treasure? Hah! I will reward you with a cold grave, LITTLE lackey! Afterwards, I will gather your soul to slave for my Winter Court!

MAY YOUR HEARTS FREEZE IN YOUR CHESTS, YOU MORTAL MONSTERS!'

The tiny being rises into the air where you released her, and the air starts to get much, much colder...a freezing fog begins billowing out from her outstretched scepter, stealing the breath of all the guardsmen and stealing their heat. This area is about to become quite inhospitable.

"...DIE! DIE! YOU WILL ALL DIE! NYAHAHAHA!'

...

Tirion, however, finds that his own Fey (much more grateful for release) seems to be countering the effects of the terrible cold billowing from behind-the being seems to exude a small pocket of warmth that protects him.

"Smi's si lisis fesm, esh' smi? Dih' zillith, I'ss phliis ithie, hiz hleihv!" She chirps.

The tiny, dark red eyes settle back on Cirila, somehow growing even brighter and angrier-as if, given a moment to consider of her actions, it only make her more incensed.

"...All mortals are equally guilty in the eyes of the Winter Court! Of the crime of being mortal!

ESPECIALLY YOU!

I WAS MERE MOMENTS FROM FREEING MYSELF, WITH THE AWESOME POWER OF ICE AND SNOW THAT I COMMAND-AND YOU ROBBED ME OF MY INEVITABLE MOMENT OF GLORY THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD WHEN I FREED MYSELF! YOU ARE A THIEF AND A FOOL-YOU MADE ME LOOK WEAK BY HELPING ME WHEN I DID NOT REQUEST IT! AND, FOR THAT YOU MUST PAY DEARLY!"'

Hmm, fairy logic...

The first part seems to at least provoke anything worse, but when she utters the second half of the sentence...

"...NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT DO! OR WHAT NOT TO DO! NO ONE TELLS ME ANYTHING I DON'T WANT TO HEAR!"'

It's getting quite cold, now. Cirila feels like she's going to freeze solid!

"Thank you, friend, for such brilliant warmth," he expressed his gratitude as he set the fairy onto his shoulder. He then quickly steps out from cover and swings at Bandit B with his sword, however does not attempt to actively strike any lethal blows.

Tessele looks at the downed bandit with concern. She hadn't intended to kill, merely disable. Well, there was nothing she could do for him now.
Shrugging sadly, she turned to the currently largest threat, the fairy. Bellowing to ensure the creature heard her, she shouts "YOU ARE INTERFERING WITH A KOLOS GUARD INVESTIGATION. YOU WILL STAND DOWN, OR BE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. DURING THIS STATE OF EMERGENCY, I AM AUTHORIZED TO USE LETHAL FORCE!"
If her proclamation cows the fairy, Tessele will attack, preferably non-lethally, a bandit. If not, she'll take a swing at the fairy, again, non-lethally.

The Fairy Princess seems to lack a suitable response to this line of argument.

"I'LL...INTERFERE YOU TO DEATH! YOU'RE AUTHORIZED TO DIE!"' She booms, the fingers of icy fog now closing in on Tessele...

Tessele braced herself against the child, and charged.
Move to G8, and attack the fairy.

Thoven mutters something about not being paid to deal with uppity fae and moves to H6 and releases another Fae hoping for something helpful against the frost fae.

As he did the above he yelled back up at whom he could only assume was Despair, trying to imitate one of the bandits voices as best he could.

"Just taking care of some trash that wandered in!"
