Let's Play Final Fantasy 1

Hello Everyone I am here to showcase my Let's Play of Final Fantasy 1!
This version of Final Fantasy 1 will be the on the GBA. The reason we will be making this on the GBA version is because I am most familiar with it, but it is also more easier for me to work with and don't have to deal with grinding.
Today We will show the Intro of this game and explain on how the classes work.

So as you can see, the world is not at it's best of shape lately. This is what happens when you try to run a planet on crystal energy.

Spoiler: Classes (click to show/hide)

Now we will choose our four classes:

Warrior: Strong, Can use most armor and weapons, a bit slow. Pretty much a tank!

Thief: Fast, Cannot Steal but it's agility is high so it attacks more than the others.

Monk: Kills everything wit his hands, cannot use magic and very low use of weapons, and armor.

White Mage: Healer, Most of the magic she/he has is curative or damages the undead but has magic that protects the party, weak attack.

Black Mage: Damages with magic, Most of it's magic is use for massive damage but has magic that buffs the party, also weak.

Red Mage: Mix of White Mage, Black Mage, and Warrior, Jack of all trades, Master of none.

I will let the forum choose the party and the name of each party member so until then We will see you on the next update!

Ah, a fun remake on the GBA, though they threw the balance completely off-kilter. On the upside, they fixed Temper so it actually works, and physical attackers become broken to no end.

I vote for:

Fighter
Thief - Daryl
Red Mage
White Mage

I'll leave names for the others open.

I gotta say, a no-healer party (red mages don't really cut it) makes the run a lot harder. You feel the loss of the black mage a lot less because magic simply doesn't scale with buffed physical attacks, and the red mage can provide those buffs and attack a lot better.

PART 2

Hello everyone now we start our adventure! But first:

As you can see there is a character limit to naming them.

As you can see the one in the top is the one shown on the map.

As you can see this is the main menu.
Let's see what we have in our equipment.




As you can see, we donīt have the best of equipment
now let's look at our stats.

A missing princes, good to know

That name is the same as the intro. He is the one that predicted our arrival.

I see people are concerned for the princess.
But enough talk, let's go shopping!

This is the weapons shop.

We buy a hammer for the warrior and 2 sword for the rest

2 chain armor and leather armor for the thief

Then we go to the mage store.


We buy cure for the red mage
and fire for the black mage



then we equip weapons and armor to the party.
Only the black mage gets no armor and weapons because he cant equip none of it

Then we talk to the soldiers roaming around

keep in mind that doing so will move you to the castle.

I guess we do

This is good if you left the game for a long time and forgot what to do.

Might I recommend resizing a bit smaller, and without interpolation?

In any case, can't wait to read this. Never played the Dawn of Souls remake, but I loved the original to death. They fix the insanity of the Marsh and Earth caves for this one? Those were hell back in the day.

I'm a little concerned about M. Bison getting buffed out of the whazoo, but at least what he's going to do is going to happen to monsters.

*edit* I'm also with Tawarochir that the images need to be bigger, at the moment they're hard to read properly.

Wow, the GBA version's script is so much better than the original's. Must be the removal of that in-house translation policy.

I dunno the Red Mage I feel does better in this game then he does the most.

In that this is one of the few games where being able to switch from attack magic to healing is useful, and the Red Mage is competent at both. Heck he is a popular choice for solo runs.

As opposed to all the other games that try to make a "Jack of all Trades" class where the end result is someone who is incompetent at everything

Well the game is super easy
I mean that to beat the final boss you need at least a team of lv. 50's in a game that tops at 100.
but you need a team that reach 65 to beat the bonus bosses, because they kick your ass if you are not prepared.
