"If you would excuse me a moment."

Argent stomps around the nearest corner.

There is a loud crash as if something had been hit with a lot of force.

Argent walks out from behind the corner.

"Sir.  Someone just died in front of us, to what was either pure chance, or a terrifyingly well-planned trap.  Blaming us for it is not going to help anybody.  Least of all us."

He enters the vehicle, a smoldering rage in his eyes.

"And why, sir, did you leave us there?"

"Touch my arm, child. I did not leave you anywhere."
The Headmaster frowns. And upon Argent touching the Headmaster's arm, he would note that his hand passes right through the arm like air.

[TheBiggerFish]

"You could have saved her."

[Projeck37]

"Child, I am not here. I cannot save shit. Now don't speak of matters you do not know nothing about, before I discipline you."

[SOLDIER First]

((inb4 argent doesn't close his mouth))

[TheBiggerFish]

"Go ahead then!  I don't care anymore!  You threw us into an ambush that killed two other teams, and then left us in the midst of a massively out of our depth combat scenario that if you do have telepresence you should have known about!  And if you can't do anything, what's moving her?  It's not me!  You could have done something!  Helped staunch the bleeding or lift us out or something!

So go ahead, give me a detention, I don't bloody care!  Someone just died in front of me and you're saying you couldn't do anything when you already did something and - "

He breaks into sobs.

"Do you think - - we don't care?  Do you?  You don't - - seem to care that much yourself..."

[SOLDIER First]

Too much noise. Too loud. Bothering him.

Reynard covers his ears and slumps against the door.

Melodia's suddenly hugging Reynard.
A hand touches Argent's shoulder.

The Headmaster sighs.
"You are such a foolish child. I don't throw my students into situations that I know they can't handle. And I've seen enough death that I am numb to it."
He holds his arm forward, and Argent feels a tingling feeling on his skin, like a slight tug. Then, his arms are suddenly folding behind his back in a natural manner, however locked in place by whatever it is. It's a tight, and uncomfortable position for Argent.

[SOLDIER First]

He relaxes, just a little.

[TheBiggerFish]

Argent's murderous glare is back again, even as he sobs.

"We're - - not you!"

Argent barely notices the hand.

"We're not - - soldiers, we're not - - sociopaths, we are kids so why are you expecting us to be you?

We should tell her.  If it was our fault, we should bear this responsibility.  And we made a promise."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

_{"Enough, Argent."}

[TheBiggerFish]

"It's not enough, it's never enough, someone DIED!  SOMEONE DIED!  CAN NOBODY ELSE SEE THAT?"

The vehicle slams back onto the sand.

"Someone died and I couldn't stop it..."

He's crying again.

[SOLDIER First]

At this point Reynard has gone from slumping against the door to slumping against Melodia, ears still covered.

Sienna sighed, green eyes glancing over to Argent as her frown deepened.
"Ain't nothing going to bring them back, quit your whining. Nobody can save everyone," she said with another deep sigh, returning her gaze forward and out the window of the vehicle.

Melodia simply wraps her arm around Reynard, pulling him close to her.
"What's done is done. We can only move on and learn from our mistakes."
