Huh. I'm actually quite intrigued to see how a co-op micronation would turn out.

Some libertarians tried that in South America, I think. Now they're fighting in a US court.

Feel-good? Maybe. More like feels-sane.

Isn't it amazing what happens when people address reasonable concerns like rational human beings?

Bit of old news by now, but there's this Indian billionaire who supposedly sponsored the invention of a bike pedal operated energy generator that can supposedly provide enough energy to power a normal sized house's lights and basic appliances for 24h, by just pedaling it for about 1h. He's giving away about 10 thousand of these bikes to poor families in India. He's also supposedly working in an easy way to make potable water out of sea water, and a new much more efficient way of getting geothermal power.

1 hour of pedaling for 24 hours of useful power in a home?  That sounds impossibly efficient, but maybe it just means small third world homes where you only have a few appliances and lights or something.  Still a very nice gesture of course.

Penis reconstruction surgery for injured veterans. Don't laugh, this is a big step forward for those unfortunate fellows. Plus think about the possibilities that will open up for transsexuals in the future!

I always wondered about that one, I always figured it was just too personal. Well... Good to see that some people think it's worth it.

Well it took a while to find something worthwhile, apparently Uraguay gets a lot of it's energy from renewables So they have that going for them.
