For some reason I'm not really feeling blunderbuss as a ranged mode. Doesn't seem like a sword could reasonably change to be that wide, unless it was a blunderbuss-axe like that one episode.
Any ideas on a replacement gun?

I think Blitz' point is that a sword-blunderbuss is actually reasonable for this setting.

Not in my head. I can't see the blade ends magically shaping into a tube, nor can I see the handle widening enough to truly be a blunderbuss.
