I'm actually seeing a lot of people theorizing that she's not dead, because she just turned to dust, and nobody's died* onscreen to compare with. Plus all of her stuff disintegrated except her tiara (which might have been Cinder's doing, though) and blah blah PLS DONT B KILL etc.
_{*Not one important, nonrobot character has explicitly been killed onscreen before Pyrrha.}

Although I have a feeling Pyrrha will just end up coming back as some Mia Fey-type spirit advisor person. Either that or Jaune will end up figuring out how to resurrect her or something along those lines. Probably the former; Jeanne D'Arc famously had hallucinations that she believed were the word of angels and saints, after all.

Unless they go full irony by switching the way they die. I.e. Pyrrha burns and Jaune dies to an ankle shot.
Of course, we still don't know Jaune's Semblance I believe...
