I still support the dart rifle. If we were going for a three pounder, then I would try for a rifled revolver.

I feel like I'm missing a reference.

I recall seeing somewhere that the game could include frost giants or something if things went too crazy, but that could have been another thread.

I should have realized. Hell, the Whateley pistol is a reference to the same story.

The specifics of the proposal were not consciously based upon anything specific.

Few ideas:

1) Donkeys and mules domestication for more logistics (GM, is this legal revision)
2) Cheap cavalry Armor + lance
3) Revise fishing boat to use a 8 pounder, improve speed, add boarding equipment
4) Remove full auto from the air pistol
5) New horseshoes, saddles and other equine equipment both for transportation and cavalry
6) Adapt 6 pounders to Von Karsten system.
7) Victoria II carabin

Wow, that is utter crap compared to the French original. Oh well, it's good enough for our purposes.

If we want a carbine, we could adapt the pickle gun for it. It's more reliable, even if it isn't quite as awesome, and getting some experience there will let us get revolvers as soon as someone develops the percussion cap.

Why remove full-auto from the pistol? It is a fantastic shock-weapon and semi-auto would require a massive redesign. It should be fairly plausible to just tweak the feeds a bit and get something that is generally safe to operate...

I can support this. It really isn't what I would want, but the situation is sort of desperate.

Hrmm, it could probably be adjusted to, erhm... you need to stop the airflow and the ammunition... Honestly, leaving it as it is and just getting it to work properly would be my inclination. It is basically an S.M.G., in close quarters it should be able to take out about three opponents before they can shoot once. Of course, then you need a minute to reload the thing, but still...

I think the carbine would be a good idea. Or what about green camo uniforms, to take full advantage of the fact that we have a silent, smokeless gun that can be reloaded in a crouching position?

+1 to ghost-ship witchcraft.

On carbines, how does this work for everyone?

Quote from: Albert Carbine
A version of the Victoria II air rifle with a shortened barrel, intended for cavalrymen. This new version utilizes the revolving mechanism of the captured pickle guns instead of the earlier paddle system to increase reliability and better seal the chamber to maximize air flow down the barrel. Like the Victoria II, the reservoir is designed to be swapped out quickly and easily. Spares are to be stored in saddle-bags along with extra ammunition, allowing a mounted soldier to maintain nearly continuous fire as long as he has ammunition.

My problem with the carabine that it is not useful at bad rolls and competes with already existing weapon.

My vote goes to:

Revise standard cavalry equipment. Add lance, gauntlets, a helmet and a cuirass. Test armor should be able to resists sabers, exploded air pistols and far away Victoria I shots.  Also, try to improve saddles, horseshoes and other equine equipment to make it more fitting for a heavier rider

Armored cavalry should be more willing to use the pistols... And lance attack is devastating for enemy morale
