All I might add is a number of cannon. I'd say 15, for two six-gun broadsides, two stern-chasers and a bow-chaser. Other than that +1.

Just seems like it wouldnt do much against their ships though.

It's literally three less than the Loyalists have on their London-class, and only two less per broadside. The Loyalists took down the pirates' ships easily enough. Dover-classes are even less armed than the pirates' Jaegars, so I think we should be fine.

Spoiler: rant (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: alternative proposal (click to show/hide)

Their guns give them an advantage broadside (with the numbers or not), so we need to be inventive. This boat is designed to be fast enough to decide when and where battles should be fought.

+1 That does sound better, since it suitable for hit and run.

Just asking but would our new steam tech not be stronger than current one on it? since low pressure and paddle wheel worked on  SS Savannah which is bigger than our current mulard and was built fairly soon as it was first steamship to sail across ocean I believe?

I'd rather be able to use all varieties of shot in our chasers, and also I think the problem of the moving firing platform is always a huge problem for indirect fire artillery on ships, one that won't be solved until the dreadnought era. Therefore, I'd rather just use conventional cannon. Bermuda rig sounds like a good idea.

Arnt most ship weaponary fixed to areas on the ship those days since it was time consuming and labourless to try move them.

The whole ship is moving in the waves, which throws accuracy way off for indirect fire like howitzers and mortars.

Well R-2 fires only mounted on the front it be so all it need to be is foward facing enemy ships to set them on fire.

1. SS Savannah is smaller than our Mullard by some 20 ft in length.
2. I can work with conventional cannons, though I'd push strongly for designing carronades that can be used in place of 6-lbers next turn if we wanted to rely on the broadside.

We didn't design the ship this turn because resources are more important to our performance long-term than design effectiveness. Our weapons are outdated we suffer for a year, our resources fall too far behind and our enemies get a lot of momentum.

We could design a better boat then revise roadways.

Though the long-term benefits of powered railways is not to be belittled.

Yeah gaining resource advantage would better since we could go crazier with designs then.

In my opinion, you've changed so many things about the Mulard that it is basically a new design.
