No way a howitzer would reach national effort. We're not using anything beyond common understanding and use about the same resources as a regular cannon.

And still a we can fit 2 12lber carronades for the price of 1 Howitzer. Plus its a better fit for fast boats.

If either howtizer isnt national effort we could fix up steamship and mount a few on it, and if we try to steal loyalists ship we could upgrade with howtizers and steam engine.

But these are ground artillery pieces. We need them to have the range that carronades just afford you.

Flazeo's is the best one in terms of dimensions probably, and besides that I don't see much of a difference. So I guess that's my vote.

Any thoughts on our side starting the industrial revolution if possible?

Well we do need to improve transport soon, next turn probably. But that's for another time.

Yeah wonder if we could equip transport, factorys, mines etc with steam to kick off since we already have a steam engine and our first steam ship should be produced this turn any ways.

Edit: So if we were to purse that kind of line we need to create a brand new steam engine on it's own what work with anything.

Could I get a reasonable estimate on the range the cannons would provide if things go off well?

Maximum Range - 1,300 yds (.8 miles)
Effective Range - 750 yds (.4 miles)
Got that from the internets
That is a general estimate from the exact year in america

Think they have slightly longer range than that.
