A Message from the Richards Palace of the Glorious Atterton Monarchy to the Grand Engineering Hall, January 1, 1781

Glorious engineers of the Atterton Monarchy!  Your ideas have perfectly predicted the movements of most of our enemies!  Your advice had our forces positioned properly to counter the savages to the north and the unenlightened upon their island!  While we were pushed back a little by those savages and a fairly large amount of land was removed on the route to our great city, those people have been dealt with and our future victories will come!

There is much better news from the Hall of Secrets!  We have managed to capture the Victoria rifle that has stymied us so much on our fronts!  The design specifications are enclosed with a copy of the blueprints.  Take this and make something to bring glory to the Great King and the Exalted Prince!

Spoiler: Enclosed Message (click to show/hide)

So  I think we should get some form of ground artillery, it could also maybe double as naval batteries to fend off ships.

Well the weapons we stole from the Confedrancy should be useful in for a while.

Im thinking we should fix up the boat for revision and make a steam loctomotive train for design.

I don't want anything to do with the boat right now. Steam technology isn't going to work. I would like to create some kind of handheld grenade of some sort.

I doubt that our soldiers will get close enough to use grenades, and the best we could probably do is a ceramic ball filled with gunpowder with a fuse out the top. I would be willing to vote for it if there is nothing else I would like though

Well loyalists are wining on the sea front, but don't a have beachhead but could still blockade us while the Confedracy is at stalemate with us and we managed to steal their gun. We could go for early air supportory, improve transportation or communication, try improve fire ratings with new cartiages or try to go for navel suppertiory?

It is the brits, They are going to focus on controlling the water due to the fact that they are on their own island. Just no to the plane, Just no. Best we are going to get out of communication is people carrying letters around on horseback, The artillery could shoot at their ships and the troops if we do it right.

Didint mention plane, meant we could build air ballons for air support or telegraph for commuincation.

We could test creating balloons carrying baskets with bombs in them. And then people shoot the balloons so they will burst and drop bombs on the enemy.

Well one more idea is the russian Naval mine which was made in 1812 which cold be tossed in and left to wait to blow up their ships.

Are you saying we fill the balloons with bombs? No, Just no. First of all it would weigh WAY too much, Second of all how would we light them if it was inside of the balloon. Thirdly, the only balloons we would be able to make would explode on being shot, so the bombs would just make a bigger explosion.

No, it is carrying a basket filled with bombs. We wouldn't light them cause they would explode on contact.

We are not even close to the level of technology to make bombs that explode on contact (at least not that i am aware of) Plus it is a balloon , as soon as that thing drops a bomb its going to be filled with bullets
Its a good idea, if a bit early.
