Quote
AM-R-II 12 pounder Howit - A variant of the AM-R that weights slightly over a ton. Its bore has been modified to be able to effectively use case and low explosive shot. However, this comes at a cost that neither ball or canister ammunition can be used with the gun.  The effective range of the cannon is 600 meters for the case shot and 450 meters for the explosive shot. (Very Expensive)

Tech Gained:
Explosive Shot
Case Shot

Looks like you landed with the other side of the coin with this one...

Production Phase Begin
Question. How on earth it is possible for a smoothbore to be incapable of firing round shots?

Ball shot as in solid ball. Basically we're using lighter propellant charges to fire, so the solid ball just wouldn't work effectively. Or maybe the bore's been widened so that the fuse lights properly, that could explain it either.

EDIT: We should produce the Victoria rifle. Repelling advances is hard without those yo.

Production is set to producing the Victoria Rifle.  You may choose to rename it to something else to differentiate those produced upon your ground from those produced in Confederate ground.

Considering it's just about the same thing I wanted to design this turn, absolutely yes we should steal the plans for the loyalist ship.

Yeah sure. Their boat seems cool. If we slap a steam engine on it, i'm sure it could outclass anything on the sea.

Also, will any of our steam boats have flags for extra movement?

I think the issue we have with steam engines being used on vehicles is that they'll be running at a relatively low steam pressure. It makes them okay for industrial use but not so great for things they have to move because of their relatively poor power:weight ratio.

And yes steal the ship. Out of the things we would really want to have it's the thing that's most likely to go wrong in development.

At the end of the day we may need higher amount of firepower, but for now we should steal their ship.

Seems to be a landslide for stealing the loyalist ship, so setting your espionage choice to that.

Begin Focus Phase

Also, will any of our steam boats have flags for extra movement?

What is it you mean by this question?
