What if they sent in raptors with head mounted cameras?

It's not just that everyone needs a different dose of anaesthetic, if it's being pumped into a building it'll not be distributed evenly except over the long term.

I have another idea, fill it with some sort of non-toxic smoke so they can't see a damn thing and have the good guys enter wearing thermal goggles.
I have seen security systems like this in jewellers and the like. When they trigger the alarm the place fills with thick white smoke of some kind.

And this is why Hollywood sucks, because people think they know how to armchair quarterback a siege situation. Not trying to slam any forumites in particular, just...guys. Really.

One would have to settle on an acceptable mortality rate. This may be unacceptable to some people.

Rubbish. Just nuke the place. No-one will die to a booby-trapped apartment if you vapourise the entire city.

Still too dangerous. Better nuke the whole planet from orbit. Has the added advantage of solving a whole lot of problems at the same time.

Only nuking? We need to blast it apart, from the inside out. If we only raze the surface there's a high chance of something surviving.

Raptor SWAT teams are an entirely serious, feasible, and promising solution.

It's been done. Or at least, most of the way.

Come on, the only thing more dishonourable than chemical weapons are nonlethal chemical weapons. If you really want to do that, you can get deadly - read: more honourable - chemical weapons, by using the exhaust from car engines, or passivly (it won't burn on its own) burning PVC from cables or tubes ... or records from the Eagles of Deathmetal.

dunno, i was just sort of curious :v

i guess that smoke is much more practical and useful than very small doses of sedative, though.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

I don't know how legit this is, but a few days ago Wikileaks posted an Islamist blog they're claiming discusses "ISIS strategy in France." It talks about eliminating the "grayzone" of people who have not sided with Islam or against it (i.e. sided with ISIS or the "crusaders"). I haven't read it all, though I don't really know if I want to.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
