We seem to have been very bad at identifying and then actually hitting military targets, although I would definitely prefer to drop bacony goodness instead of high powered explosive ordinance. Then again, from where I stand, bacon is a fairly harmless thing except to your cardiovascular health, but nothing is perfectly harmless at terminal velocity.

Holy crap, why did I not start watching One Punch Man earlier? This is the best thing.
probably figured an autobiography wouldn't be interesting

I am very concerned if only because well...

The military isn't beyond "Lets blow up this densely populated area to kill the maybe 1-3 insurgence inside!" (look up Highway of Death for evidence of that)

So... starve em out and give em only Bacon and Ham? ... Well... it'll work out in the end I suppose...  How does Islam consider cannibalism?

EDIT: Actually offer a 3rd option, surrender yourself and you can have non-bacon foods.

Why is everyone so interested in harassing them religiously?

You might as well just force feed them beer.

If you're referring to this, your characterization of that engagement is highly misleading to say the least. A retreating army on a stretch of road somewhere in the desert is an acceptable military target if there ever was one.

Arguably he's already a progressive, just one in the style of an enlightened Kaiser.
I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

So, we're planning to airdrop bacon and beer, for free, to ISIS combatants.

Dear Bay12 ISIS sleepers, nice try, but we're not doing that.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Saudis want their share of that delicious, frothy airbeerdrop! It would make the smugglers' job so much easier.

Yeah, that's almost entirely a manufactured controversy. Retreats and routs are both military activities subject to attack. The book Warthog: A10's in Desert Storm has a good chapter about it if anyone comes across a copy.

Gotta love the wikipedia listing for the death toll

Judging by the piss poor job he did smuggling it... I'd say he lost his brain long ago.

Oof, a stadium and a music hall in Hannover (is the correct spelling Hanover? I've seen both variants) got evacuated due to serious concrete bomb threats. Merkel was also scheduled to attend the stadium game.

I don't know if Germany is actively fighting ISIS atm, though that threat did say allies, so...

Germany  is not fighting them, and I dont think they have plans to send any type of military/air planes to Syria/Iraq/Libya. The last thing I know is they are more helping in arms and training of Kurds, or something like that.

Rumors has it an Ambulance bomb with a person "known to authorities" was found at the scene.

Edit: seems like it was false rumors.

Interesting OpEd, while it's aimed at American policies, theres probably lessions in there for Europe as well.

Also, OpEd article that I thought initially sounded good, but the more I read it, the more it sounded like tossing the undesireables into the front lines as cannon fodder. :/ http://www.politico.eu/article/attack-paris-a-muslim-foreign-legion-to-fight-isil/ The article does make a point of thinking outside the box though.

Given the long-standing Turkish immigrant population ("Berlin: Turkey's second-largest city" was the joke, a decade or two back) that's either strange or natural enough...

(Noting that I felt safer walking through Turkish areas of Berlin than some 'English' areas of London, that year I happened to do both a number of times.)
