How is the civ game going to work?

Speaking of lowest intelligence, that reminds me of the fact that it's probably your first time in prison. Don't worry, I can give you some tips, having spent some time in a few myself. The best way to make friends here is to drop the soap during shower time. Try it, I'm sure you'll love making friends like that!

..So since I cannot play both, could I at least watch the DND game while also playing the Civ game? While I'd rather do the Civ games, I feel like it'd be nice if I could WATCH what I'm impacting with my buildings, etc.. whatever I can do in that Civ game..
On that,
How is the civ game going to work?

Also, no one on the DND side being halflings? D:

Otto's sheet looks good now.
Although it did make me realize that Tyler's wizard should have six 1st-level spells, not just two.

How is the civ game going to work?
I'm basically making a game system from scratch. Most of it is done and ready, I'm just still doing some simulations to make sure the costs of buildings and projects is at least somewhat balanced against your ability to gather resources.

I'd be a midget wrestler, but then I couldn't grapple anything larger than Medium creature. Now, if I could tag-team with another midget wrestler...

How gamey will this system be? Can I customize my cities with lore and drama, or is that only for you?

Roleplay cities to your heart's content. Anything that doesn't break lore or give you some kind of statistical advantage is fair game. In fact, I encourage it, makes the world seem livelier.
City is primarily waterways and everyone gets around by boat? On the plains? Go for it.
Everything is bright and shiny and made of marble (in a forest)? Sure, why not.

Fun. Though, I meant more as of political figures. I would enjoy it if I could say the (leader) was Minrik Blahson who had a certain personality, instead of Random McRandomson who had a personality completely different then what I wished.

..Maybe what I want is being able to make a corrupted halfling civilization which will most likely have quests relating to crazy alliances between nobles and bandits, etc.. I dunno, I want to see where you put your line on -game- and -roleplay- and what you'll let the players do, and what you want to do yourself for DM reasons.

In other words, you want to make an intrigue plot? Started by the Civ players, even?
I hadn't planned on doing such a thing, but I'm not adamantly against it. Send me a PM sometime about what you've got cooked up, we'll hammer out the details together.
The civ players can show up to the D&D campaign sessions and watch, of course. There might even be opportunities for you to join in the roleplaying.

I'm honestly surprised this hasn't come up. If your going to build TWO games that operate with each-other, wouldn't it be a good idea to let the players at least somewhat affect the other game in a way. Wouldn't that allow further reasons to build certain buildings?

You could have it that quests are either somewhat made and/or affected by the civ players and what there civilizations are, and the quests done could affect civilizations down it's path.

I... what?
The two games running in tandem, with each player's actions affecting both games, was the whole point from the beginning, and has influenced the game's design as such.
The adventurers will undertake, almost exclusively, missions that are of benefit to the Civilization players. Every ruin cleared is free housing, and probably has interesting location-based artifacts, like that one place with the weird air currents and array of pre-built gilde-a-pults. Each encounter with enemy units, every operation in enemy cities or garrisons, affects the Civilization game in a real way. The overall campaign objective is not Kill The One Bad Guy, it's the downfall of a dozen or so enemy Civilizations, with the aid of your own.
Likewise, the Civilization players will be working together with the adventurers; whichever player oversees the town the adventurers are staying in, will be given some options for how much resources to dedicate to helping them on their next mission. Free food is nice, some extra hands to help carry and guard supplies is always good, but battle parties along with Covert Ops adventurers are how things get done. The Civilization leaders are also free to request missions of the adventurers, and the adventurers are relying on the city leaders for supplies and shelter, not to mention class features.

It looks to me like both groups of players have a direct influence on the others' games, am I missing something? Did I miscommunicate and not make this clear before?
Your saying these things confuses me  :-\

Also, the maptools connection test for the D&D campaign is going to be 7PM (Central Standard Time) on Sunday, which is 40 hours from now. I'll leave the server up for several hours. If you haven't used Maptools before, it's a doubly good idea to show up for a quick lesson on how to use the program, and get a token made for your character.
I have admin access to my own router and have set up port forwarding for Maptools before, so assuming that all still works, we shouldn't need any extra software. (Thank goodness, Hamachi creeps me out sometimes)

I had a friend help me do a pre-connection-test connection test with Maptools. It works, some screwing around required on my part.

Also, Urist Mc Dwarf, you're not going to name your town?

Okay, I'll start the server for the connection test in... eh...
whatever, I'm ready now. I think. I'll leave it up for like 3 hours.

I named it Gods War on the game listing. In case that doesn't work, use the Direct connection tab. My IP is 174.2.71.79 and the port is 51239. (Don't confuse it with the default port, which ends in a 4.

Adventurers and rulers alike, come on by, see the map, learn some macros, ask to have tokens made, etc. etc.
