Cheesistan Z: Roll to Normal
« on: November 06, 2015, 11:46:42 pm »

Totally Appropriate Announcement Music

At last! Witness the long-anticipated birth of the sequel to the legendary Roll to Dodge Cheesistan! Whether you're new or old, all are welcome to the inception!

Rules:
Quote from: Rules
  • Introduce yourself and any characters other than yourself you'll be using.
  • You may have unlimited characters, but only one action per character or two actions if only one character is making an action.
  • Moderate dialogue and roleplaying are allowed but any action must be rolled for.
  • From time to time there may be a large and powerful entity that will serve as a boss and be counted as a player. While not strictly required, players are encouraged to work together to defeat the boss.
  • Rolls will be based on a d8, rather than the standard d6 of most Roll-to-dodges.
Spoiler: Roll value translation (click to show/hide)
  • In order to keep better cohesion, Cheesistan Z will not feature rolling for modifiers on additional rolls, even though that was present in Cheesistan. The exception is for assist rolls, which will now only count for a range of -1 to +1.
  • An addendum to the above, no longer will players be allowed to acquire/utilize character powers to modify rolls. ( I'm looking at you Beirus. :P )
  • All stats are arbitrary and won't need to be kept track of, serving only narrative purposes. If you wish to do so for whatever reason, please keep it inside a spoiler.

Quote from: The Story So Far
The Micronation of Cheesistan and Surrounding Territories having been destabilized by Civil War, Revolution, and frequent invasion by super-powerful entities has been sucked into an alternate dimension in order to protect the Planet Earth. Now inside a mysterious and previously empty dimension, only MacGuffin Mumbo-Jumbo GM powers and the radiant energy of all the many super-beings keeps it alive. However, as the dimension was empty, it has begun sapping the power of all the super-beings, returning them to mere corporeal forms. A temporary treaty has been struck amongst the warring dignitaries, allowing peace to rebuild. Now it is time to reach your will out into the void and forge a new world to cohabitate, whether in peace or in war is up to you.

Quote from: Geography Overview
Arcadia:Capitol of the New Kingdom of Cheesistan.
Microphonia:Capitol of the Republic Kingdom of Cheesistan.
Trapisti Temple:A semi-autonomous, walled in complex housing a cult of transvestites.
Wolf Lake Winter Palace:Unofficial Capitol of the Old Kingdom of Cheesistan, inherited by the former staff of the previous royal family.

Should the factions play a part in this game, I'll add them to this spot in the op.

For now, first turn:

(( Yes. Everybody's basically getting a power reset excepting that you get to help determine the form of the new universe. Choose wisely in order to survive. ))

You look over at things near you, not sure as to what exactly happened. You feel extremely weak as well as feeling as if you're back to your original self, before making the trek to Cheesistan. You look out into... space? You see CaptinMclellan in the distance. He seems to being doing something. You start to remember. This is a whole new diminsion! You should probably go and help him out.

PROCEED TO HELP CAPTAIN IN CREATING THE UNIVERSE WITH WHAT LITTLE STRENGTH AND POWER YOU STILL FEEL.
MAKE HOLY WATER.
((Yay reboot!))

"YOU THINK YOU CAN STOP ME WITH A SIMPLE DIMENSION-TRANSITION!? HA! JUST A SETBACK IN THE LONG RUN, I SHALL EVENTUALY CONTROL THIS CHAOTIC DIMENSION, AND INVADE THE SURELY PITIFUL RADIOACTIVE REMAINS OF EARTH!

FOR ONE, A DISTANT DESERT WORLD IS CREATED. INHABITED BY PRIMITIVE CUBONE TRIBES, THIS WORLD STILL HAS RIVERS AND STUFF.

ALSO, A NEW CONTINENT ON THE PLANET CHEESISTAN IS ON, TRANFERED DIRECTLY FROM WHATEVER WORLD THE SCYTHERS CAME! ITS FILLED WITH MIDIEVIAL SCYTHER TRIBES, IN A VAST FOREST.

FINALY, FROM YOU AT DERAIL, THE TEARIFYING CULT STAR! FILLED WITH BELDUM!

AND SO, POKETWO FINISHES. LUCKILY, HE ONLY IS A FUCKING SCIZOR, AND AS SUCH, HAD NO SPECIUL POWARS TO GIVE, AS PRACTICALITY TRUMPTS ALL. JUST PLAIN OLD ROLLIN' THE DICE. NOW, ONTOWARDS DEALING WITH THE CHAOS THE TRAITOR-GENERAL'S ARMY HAS BEEN THROWN IN, 'CAUSE SLOWPOKE'S PROBOBLY NOT AROUND ANYMORE, RIGHT???

Beirus sighs. It seems the sun of this dimension does not offer him power like the old dimension, and his form has become fleshy once again. He takes only a moment to lament his missed opportunities before continuing on.

Create a new continent filled with practitioners and instructors of Ki-based, PSI-based, and magical fighting styles. And mountains with serene lakes. Their culture should be a mix of medieval European, Feudal Japan, and Warring States period China, but with a more welcoming attitude towards foreigners.

In the far south there is a desert and within it an ancient tomb it waits. Within the tomb you can meet Elchior, the Gigantic Sand Dragon of Intelligence. He likes gold and can spit sand, hot glass, and magma. Surrounding his tomb you can see many beautiful glass sculptures.

.... You've doomed us all. Granted. Everyone except for traps are executed. Random sci-fi nonsense is required to be taught in schools.
A cute intersex harem with everyone in love with the androgynous king and smart and useful enough into pushing the kingdom forward.

To the north, there is a sea. Protruding from the northern end of this sea is the densely-populated peninsular nation, the Holy Democratic Republic of Crackerstan.

The state is governed from its southernmost port, the great trade city of Crackstantinopolis. Here, the elderly Nikola Graham VIII asserts authority over his nation as Holy Emperor of the Saltine Dynasty.

Far, far to the north, at the centre of a small continent surrounded by a frozen sea, there is the Tower of the Ice Dragon.

Brave heroes travel there to slay the dragon; would-be dragoons travel there to train under it.

The dragon reincarnates monthly, and those who slay it gain power over ice; as a result, the dragon rarely lives more than a couple of weeks. Most of its disciples try to protect it, since they don't want their training stalled, but they're rarely ever strong enough to defend it from a crusading hero. It is rumoured that the frozen sea's monsters claim far, far more lives than the dragon does. They, combined with the general difficulty of crossing the frozen sea—and the non-frozen sea that precedes it—have given rise to the idea that the journey is the real trial, not the destination.

The dragon itself is powerful, but not strong enough to defeat strong heroes—some of its power goes to maintaining its domain, but even its full power isn't a match for many, especially if they prepare for the cold. In contrast, the powers a slayer gains are quite strong—equivalent to those of the dragon itself! Thus, many heroes make the journey, even knowing the risks.

(Wait, do new players get to add stuff? I'm interested in the game, but I didn't participate in the previous one.)
