In game update to previous turn:

Due to a communications equipment failure, the government accountability office forgot to announce the following last year (A.D. 4981): "Land for three settlements purchased from the Vau with 60 gems." The people responsible for the delay will not be hanging around much longer than it takes for them to stop breathing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding Phoenix:

A bug fix is available.

  • Mouse input in the Planet/SpaceWindows allows faster play now, but it is not tested much yet.
  • The manowitz crash was caused by outdated file path and should not be a problem anymore.
  • Unit info window unit drag/select hot spot is now EFS1.4 conformant.
  • Boot GUI window and crash report GUI window added.
  • On Windows, be sure to install outside of the admin only windows directories. DO NOT run Phoenix with administrator privileges and DO make a backup of your EFS installation.
File name cases: on windows file name cases should not matter as the default windows API presents a case insensitive view to applications; on linux Phoenix expects all EFS1.4 file names to be upper case, this is currently ensured by converting all EFS1.4 file names to uppercase in the linux package (so it's doubly important that you make backups.)

Payment of 20 gems for a settlement on Tethys collected by the Imperial Fleet Marines. The gems shall remain in place next to Tethys palace for a time and the correct ownership can be verified by interested parties.

It'd all go quicker if I had some grand strategy to follow. As it is, every turn I'm just staring for hours at the map, trying to figure out what to do next.

... and in news from the war, Ronaldinio Hazat scored yet another shattering victory against al-Malik rabble. Pancreator rest their souls. Now, returning to the MDCCLIV edition of Big Brother: did Alonzo and Filomena actually do it? 'Mm-hmm', says he, 'nuh-huh' says she - tune in for our pundits' in-depth analysis of these proclamations!

Do they even have any ships left outside the fleet over Byzantium?

There's this lone Dreadnought in the most southern reaches that just killed a couple of my units. Its end is near, but the fact it killed anything at all is the greatest injustice this universe has ever seen.

Which leads me to this feature I'd like to see in the EFS remake: no more random unspotted units causing wars.

I think it may be worse with the EFS1.4 AI. I've had low camo non-combat units in open terrain being overrun. Perhaps the AI plans routes several turns in advance and if you wander on those routes then it's war.

For the remake AI, that feature should be easy, just cancel the move/combat if the target hex has non-hostiles in it.

Turn sent.

Plague on the throne world! What is its cause? Not the starving Decados, that's for sure. The Decados once a decade fasting is at a close.

Eh. So much for Hawkwood's deterrent, I guess.

That was my thought as well, but the "protection" is still alive and well.
And very very fragile. No one assassinate it please, it will get all over the carpet.

I have no idea where the Decados message came from, I didn't get it on my screen.

That's very peculiar. I did check all of my units and none had plague on the throne world. I suppose only the sufferer even sees the message, right? I just checked again and none had the "*" anywhere, including cities. There is a secret plague among my people, no doubt unleashed by the sinister Lazarus. Perhaps they caught plague and immediately died, as they deserved.

The way I see it, the only plague you might have caught is the nasty itch from the prostitutes you keep on Byzantium. They might have or might have not been previously ravished by dashing Hazat officers, who care not for the itch, not ever more since we came into possession of St. Amalthea's Lancet some years back.
