Force siege?
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:18:01 pm »

So, I have the .40.24 Starter Pack which includes the edited version of force.lua in hack/scripts/modtools. The issue is, it does not work when I use "force EVIL", "force siege EVIL", and other commands. I tried moving force.lua to scripts, it creates an error. I would really like to start the force siege thing to make a little bit of more !!FUN!! and !!SCIENCE!!.

Thanks a lot!

Sieges in 40.xx have an actual world source, which requires groups to pathfind toward your land from an already existing civ. Before, sieges literally created the necessary creatures to attack your fort, which could then be forced through DF Hack.

Some work has been done on moving armies around, but getting an army to move into your fort on their next tick and be ready to attack you is iffy at best.

And even if it worked fluidly there'd still be the problem of sieges which draw on existing populations being undertrained and few in number.

Bottom line is that if you're playing for combat, play 0.34.11.
