Contagion shrugs noncommittally.

Aesford enters the simulation room, which is fairly dark and considerably less flashy than some of the other rooms. The warning sign on the way in reads, "WARNING: PLEASE CONSULT A MEDICAL EXPERT BEFORE PLAYING IF YOU ARE EPILEPTIC, PREGNANT OR PRONE TO EXISTENTIAL CRISES". Inside there are a few dozen people plugged in to generic looking VR machines. On one row there are three unoccupied machines.

[SOLDIER First]

Four. Wilson's there. Jerk.

[TCM]

Wilson can have one in the back. Actually, four open machines now that Wilson is sober enough to travel moderate distances on his own.

Aesford sits down in one of the chairs and puts on one of the helmets. Instantly, his body relaxes and he sinks into the chair.

Penelope reluctantly does the same.

[SOLDIER First]

wilson stumbles into the control panel, breaking it and sending spikes throu Aesford's face
He's always that sober, and puts on a helmet of his own.

Both Penelope and Wilson are both greeted with a mostly black screen when they start up, with just some white text and a few options:

DIFFICULTY: EASY - MEDIUM - HARD - EXTREME

Contagion does the same, entering his information and putting it on Medium.

Wilson, the male, starts on Extreme.

Penelope, female, medium.

Contagion wakes up in a cold sweat. He looks around the room: toys, superhero posters, children's clothes. His bed his small, and the window outside shows an idyllic suburban neighborhood at night. Where was he? He looks at his hands, small, and most importantly, unscarred. He feels his head, nothing there except smooth skin and a full tuft of hair. The light clicks on as a woman, both unknown and familiar to Contagion enters the room. "Contagion? Are you okay? Your father and I heard you screaming."
Penelope wakes up to a beautiful blue sky. She looks around, finding that she is laying in a field of grass in all directions, a cozy two story house a few hundred meters to the north. She is wearing a pink dress, her whole body feels out of proportion. A woman runs up to Penelope and examines her head, "Oh my Penelope, that was quite a fall you had." This woman looks like she's only 5 feet and a couple inches tall, yet she towers over Penelope.
Wilson wakes up to explosions. Before he can even get oriented to his surroundings, which all look like some sort of stony and clay walls, and his clothes which are but a simple shirt and pants, a man runs into the room. "Wilson! We have to go!" He grabs Wilson, pulling him upright and onto his feet as shockwaves rattle the ground beneath him.

[SOLDIER First]

Wilson blindly follows the man.

Penelope immediately looks around, attempting to pull herself to her feet. She instinctively reaches to her waist, before-
Simulation. Right. I haven't got it on me.

".....yes. Yes it is......"
She reaches around her head to check for wounds, too, while looking at the woman directly.
