At this point, I probably should mention the players in that little farce. Four-arms turned out to be Tourmaline, a gestalt entity formed from yet another one of them arrogant pseudo-meatsacks by the name of Periw, and her sister, Citrine. Football's name was Aesford Gerstmann, girl-whose-name-was-not-Alanis was Anna Desmos, the home owner who turned out to also know jackshit about the anomaly was Mio Honda. The soldier called himself ENG, because of course he did, claimed to have come from a wartorn hellhole populated by homicidal humans, the latter part I think we can all agree is definitely plausible. Then there was the thing that as it turned out, wasn't repelled by secondhand smoking. It That Embraces, the sort of thing whose very appearance put it well on its way to my "shoot on sight" from the get go, not that anything came out of it in the end. Like us, it has no name of its own and communicated through what I can only assume to be its own equivalent of a vessel, one whose communication choice played hell with my sensors.
