"I want to know my enemy. If I can try to determine some sort of pattern to their advances or strikes, It might give some insight to any method behind the madness.
So far all we know is that they are bent on devouring reality as we know it. We don't know why they are doing it, or how. We also don't know if they are subservient to some greater enemy or hive minded.
If anyone can figure out what makes them tick, or what tactics they prefer, it's a step closer to defeating or neutralizing them."

"Are you talking about the Vertex, or the Trespassers? Anyway, I wish you luck with finding things about it, but I don't think you'll have much luck today; people have tried for the last six hundred years and all we've gotten is an early warning system allowing us to detect the Vertex before they break in. Just get some rest and think on it tomorrow.

If you're still going after the records, I can give you Fukuhara's- my superior- number and he'll probably give you what records he can. Don't count on him devoting time to it, though. He's often quite busy and, like I said, if the best scientists he can muster can't do it, I'm not entirely sure he'll believe you can."
((I'm pretty sure ENG isn't exactly a musclebound bodybuilder and Eirika isn't exactly a weak little girl. She could probably drag him out of the room.))
