"Let's just ditch Jerry and maybe try talking or something.  Once Idou's calmed down.  Unless you two are hard-coded aggressive or something."

Kyle looks over the tablet and nods at something before following the other two.
"According to what this says, we're heading to the part protected by the elf. On the way there we may encounter druids? In any case, they're apparently humans that used magic to modify themselves into forms better for tending their groves... Friendly folks from what David says."

"Sounds like my best friend Motya would adore them."

"If at all possible, I want this mission to be clean, any hostilities should be taken care of via myself and Gozer, unless they cannot be subdued in a non-lethal manner.  If you have such means then feel free to assist."

"Even from a logical perspective, our obstacles are worth more alive than dead, and worth the attempt to spare them."

Gozer treads on.

After a bit the come upon what must have been the shape from before. It is in fact a masoulem. Sit outside on the step is a crying man in a black robe, the hood covering his face. the marble building is covered in vines and has writings in some strange tongue around the sides.

Dackly slithers off Gozer, and next to the old man, giving him a pat on the shoulder, before laying her arm across them sitting like that until he feels well enough to speak.

Fishbyte is hooked on the same side, ready to be activated at a moment's notice.

"What does the writing say, Kyle?"

"I certainly can not read it."

The man leans his head on Dackly's shoulder. Now that she can see his face, she would note that he looks a lot like Dave. It's really weird.
Kyle looks up the writing for a few seconds and narrows his eyes at it. He rubs his chin before his companion smacks the back of his head.
"We both know that you can't read it Kyle. Stop pretending."

"There ya go."

"So, feel like telling me what's got you down Cloak and sadder?"

Gozer shrugs, it's meaning may come through to him.

He walks to a side and feels the marble for meaning, maybe the rocks recall.

The man sighs.
"I just had to lay to rest the last of those that follow Nyx besides myself. Without a group to follow her, I... I don't know what will become of her. She hasn't spoken to me since his death so... I am lost."
Weird he even sounds like Dave. Gozer, would find that the rock of the crypt only remember the word 'temple'. Obviously, they aren't a talkative lot.

"Give me and my companions a tour of the temple."

"If you teach me and my friends what she stands for, Nyx may end up watching over our journey, if she truly needs it to be.

"There are many gods I must be mindful of, but if she is in such dire straights, my devotion is not yet swayed to a side."

"She sounds so familiar besides."

Dackly holds out a hand to the cultist/priest.

Gozer thanks the stone with a pulse of enlightenment.

Chryssa casts Battlecry!

The man nods and leads the group down into the temple, making sure to note to her that it is in fact still day outside, which would sound weird until she looks and sees that it is about midnight from what she can tell. He talks about how, after the magical resurgence, many old gods tried to expand their followings, especially minor gods who had a more level playing field that ever before. The one he serves, Nyx, set up a temple here, offering a place for those who dwell within the night to stay permanently and leave to anywhere where it is night.  However, over time people forgot this kindness or were killed for one reason or another, leading to the slow deterioration of the temple. The words ring true, with rotting beds, molding pillows, and creeping vines being featured in each room at least once, but more for the most part. The tour ends in what must be a church, with a casket in front of the alter.
"... Thank you for listening to this paladin's tale. I haven't been able to talk to anyone since My Goddess cut off my connection."

Dackly's head is down, and her shoulders are shaking in quiet sobs by the end of the story.

She goes up to the altar unprovoked, and puts her last petricake on it, patting it once, before slithering back, she nods at Kyle to explain the situation.

Kyle seems to teared up a bit. He goes to the paladin and tells him the story. The man looks hard faced and considers something for a few moments before speaking.
"Hm... if you're seeking that... Then I have information that will be valuable to you. Recently, another paladin came through, a dreary sort. But that's not important. He was also seeking the relic you want. I'd be on my guard if I were you."
