"I have an idea I want to try. You see, my new deflector is great and all, but it slowly poisons me. What I want you to do is to find a way to stop that, maybe regeneration? Anyways, I'll see to acquiring bits for you to use if you think you can do it."

"Ah! I see. Unfortunately I lack the equipment at this time to assist you! But the theoretical basis is sound!" They peer closely at Ian, prodding at him from all sides with their manipulating limbs. "Of course I would need to overhaul your digestive system, add in several nutrient tanks, completely rewrite your DNA code... If you are willing to undergo such a massive overhaul for regeneration, perhaps I could interest you in altering your form further? Humans are so inefficient after all!" As an afterthought they add, "If you are not I can think of several ways to eliminate the poisons. Some intermediary lifeform, a more efficient liver... Many other ways should be possible. But without the proper equipment I cannot implement them!"
