The Cake is reminiscent of a cookie almost, with it's good crunch on the outside giving way to the carefully preserved moist insides, it is a bit hot, but an enriching heat that is proof of freshness.  Cinnamon is it's primary flavor, but Lemon can be tasted as well, though it is not sour, due in part to just how sweet it is.  There are also hints of magic in the food itself, filling the eater with little positive feelings of stability, calm, and warmth, though this is the interpretation of the living humans who taste it, and others may see different motes of their own pleasurable feelings as they eat it.

The rock candy, heavily enriched with earth magic in an ironic twist, tastes like fruit in a misty jungle, each time it cracks it releases another burst of the cool foggy aroma.

((Not sure if this counts, but I rolled 1d20 = 19 for the knife/cake interaction.))
