He is going up against a savant. He doesn't have time to continue his attempts before Periw and Gozer n' Dackly enter the bridge, "I told you to leave my stuff alone, and yet I find you messing with it again! Against my better judgement, I'm going to give you one more chance to no longer mess with my things. Understand me?" She looks furious.

Alan realizes that there's a blaring alarm (yes, he was oblivious) and heads to the control room to figure out what's happening.
"Okay, okay, what's going on here?"

He would see Periw giving angry looks at Eng, who appears to be in the middle of tampering with the large Crystal console. Dackly and Gozer are there as well, having followed behind Periw and A large green orb.

All right, the both of you, information exchange starts now.  Periw, you tell him about your stuff when he asks, ENG, you tell her about your stuff when she asks, no I don't care that it's classified WE ARE NOT IN YOUR UNIVERSE, and this goes for any other people who want to learn.  This simply cannot continue.  It's RIDICULOUS.  So, Periw, explain, before ENG starts reverse-engineering again.  And then this problem goes away!"

"It stopped being about secrets when it turned into a hacking competition, diffusing it by force will just mount tensions, since by now, ENG has broken or attempted to breach several of Periw's devices, which is about as acceptable as Bisnif Stealing our Phazon Experiments, or do you not remember how that ended?"

Gozer seems to be implying something, and backs away from the two. Keeping off sides now seems to be a matter of not interfering.
