Kenji blinks when Mio turns back to normal, but recovers quickly. "That's what Asuka said is going on. Usually I'd have been able to take those things on by myself, but this time... you saw. So something is making them more powerful than they should be. The source is probably the big Shadow at the middle of this area." Kenji also decides not to flirt with this rather attractive girl who could probably kick his ass into next week.

Then Alan(?) mentions the keys. "Keys? There was a locked door further in, where we think the main Shadow is. Maybe one is for that?"

"Okay, fill us in. What do we need to know about these Shadows? Any behaviours in battle, any attacks we need to worry about?"

[TheBiggerFish]

"There's two keys.  Ergo two doors."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Or perhaps there's one door and the other key is for something else. We'll need him to have a look at the thing, do we not?"

[Twinwolf]

"Those small ones like to shield the big ones when they get a chance. We usually deal with them first since unless we can somehow kill the big ones super-quick, it makes them really hard to kill. The big ones can deal a lot of damage given the chance, and can lock down some abilities. There were some shooting ones too but you didn't see them here. They don't have any weaknesses, but they also don't have any resistances. They can paralyze too.

Those are the main Shadows we see in this area. The only other ones should be the big one, which we don't know anything about, and this one that shouldn't be an issue unless we get really greedy with the chests in there or spend to long there. If you see a big floating thing with two revolvers, run."

"Good point, it could be containers.

Ian, keys.

Right.

What's so bad about the thing with the revolvers?"

"You're a fair bit luckier than we were back in my homeworld, then. You actually know what you're facing before you face it. We'll keep an eye out for that one.

Well, we'll keep that in mind. Thanks. Ian, if you can show him the keys, maybe he may confirm our suspicions."

"The one time we tried to fight it, it nearly killed us all and we couldn't even scratch it."

Ian shows the keys to Kenji. As he does so he turns to Charte.
"You know, something's been bugging me... What the fuck is up with everyone's names? Like, none of them have a normal name. It's tripping me out."

Ignoring Ian's comment on names, Kenji looks at the keys. "Oh! That rusty one looks like it'd fit the lock on that door. I'm not sure about the other one though."

Mio looks at the Velvet Key.
"Maybe it's for a chest?"

"Could be... but it'd be a different kind of chest then the ones we normally see."
