"It's a close-range weapon, really. Definitely not a match for your rifle, but it does well during indoor gunfights and such. I think I've seen plasma rifles, though.. Not sure if they shoot any faster.

Well, you're not wrong. Lots of old robots have combat inhibitors installed so they don't start, er... murdering everyone around them. If you can get one to turn its back in combat and destroy the inhibitor it'll attack its friends, for example. Usually you want to stand a little ways away when you do that..."
