She shrugs. "That's fine. It will take a while before the initial shock at what has occurred wears off. Then the melancholy comes."

"I know, at least partially, what you are going through. The circumstances may be different, but the symptoms, at least, seem to be the same."

[SOLDIER First]

_{"S-so what's after the melancholy?"}

She looks at him and smiles ruefully. "You get over it.
Or you do not."

[SOLDIER First]

"...Did you?"

[Sl4cker]

"Perhaps I did. I don't know for sure. Perhaps I still haven't gotten over it fully. The damnable depression certainly seems to come back every once in a while. I was still fighting when I got sent here, so..."

Eviridiki finds a room with the plain title of "A Life Well Lived" inside Dan & Bleebo's. The room is fairly dark and filled with plain virtual reality machines, most of which are occupied.

There is a moment of silence.
"... So, where were you from, before you were sent here?"

"..The- er, a wasteland... Do you know Nevada..?"
