"So, you know the biology of the donchakas?"

"Well, I have to admit, the whole tiny microphone setup is kind of impressive. As for... Bush family, Bush family, I think I've heard that before, some history class or another... uh... oh. Pfffch, are we in the twenty-first century now? And, uh, whatsyourname, why do you ask?"

"Kyle. I ask because if you don't, then how would you know it's safe for them?"

[Powder Miner]

"Well, Kyle, species doesn't matter for my chemicals. We'd be screwed if it did; the Leviticus has crew from multiple different races on multiple different planets and we'd have to have different chemicals for all of them. Tajarans, that is cat-people, Skrell, amphibian people, Diona, tree people made up multiple different little plant things, Unathi, lizard-people, then the Teshari, which aren't much bigger than the tribes here. Not to mention the weird-ass shadowlings and stuff like that. But because species doesn't matter, all of our chemicals work for everything, and that's how I know."

While Alanis and Evridiki are being interviewed, an open-air courtroom (one without the walls and ceiling of a conventional courtroom but with all of the same furniture and equipment) is being quickly constructed.

"I'm the medical professional here, guy, and more importantly, I've administered treatment after treatment after treatment after treatment to multiple species. I have experience. I know what I'm talking about."

The courtroom judge's bench is being filled with Edonchaka in robes, half of it empty for Donchaka representatives that wish to judge.
Edonchaka spectators begin filing in. Edonchaka witnesses are being led in by a bailiff. Notably, all of the Edonchaka witnesses are maimed: they are in wheelchairs, crutches, slings or draped in bandages.

"Uh-huh, uh-huh.  Can we have someone neutral go get the tapes, hm?  Also, a list of WMDs under...Whatever relevant document that was not just written on the spot."

Evridiki is distracted from Alanis by the incoming wounded witnesses.
"Now how the hell did that happen? Did you... did you just shapeshift into a wounded form?"

"Most likely.
