If Contagion could look confused, this would be one of those moments. He rubs where his tempals would be without the mask.
"Maybe it's a side effect of however I got here..."
He shakes his head annoyed at the vintage comment.

"She's trying to cope with this. It's not the best way, but...."

"...It is not coping.  That's an entirely different thing.  And I have been taking notes on the hints people keep dropping!  It's honestly more of a stressor than the whole saving the world thing!  Because now I have to worry about whether I exist!  And I really wouldn't believe stuff like that without compelling evidence!"

Penelope, of course, ignores Alanis because Contagion.
"Fair enough."

Aesford pats Alanis on the shoulder. ""Do you want to talk about this in private? Regardless of whether you are right or not, this pushing your views in a public setting is not working out. And you're freaking out the newbies."

"Your name was... Penny?... Correct?"
Contagion pulls a roll of what looks like a special kind of tape, and fixes the leak on one of his canisters. He reaches into a small pouch, and pulls out a needle with a green liquid.
"Give me your arm. That canister was rather... potent."

"Penelope. Only my father and my partner call me Penny. And I can walk it off."

[SOLDIER First]

((plot twist: her partner is actually an amalgamate of the entire cast of RWBY that has mentioned penny by name in the show))

I'd honestly prefer to just go shout at an empty room or something if I'm 'not supposed to' here, after someone directly assaults my competence.  Tourmaline.  Give me a moment."

She walks to the room directly opposite the gym and slams the door shut.

There is a lot of semi-muffled shouting, which anyone who actually bothers to listen would hear.

She seems almost manically cheerful.

"Right, Penny... In less than a minute, you're going to lose... feeling in most of your body... In two minutes, you'll feel a sharp pain as your lung collapses... on itself... In three minutes... You'll slowly lose eyesight... and after that, you'll more likely than not... Die. Your arm, please...?"
Contagion holds out his empty hand.

Penelope blinks. And waits for three minutes.

......well. She's still standing, with no actual breathing difficulties nor appearance that she's growing any number. She takes her glasses off and wipes them, before nodding to Contagion.
"......like I said, I can walk it off. I've had worse. Thanks, anyway."
