[You are. When I look at you, I see suffering, pain. Someone who needs comfort. Something that needs to be loved and helped. My very nature cries out to me, begs me to do something. I can't ignore that, any more than you can feel joy.  Although I should point out to you that I cannot actually believe that, no matter how hard I might try. I suspect I am literally incapable of believing something like 'someone exists who does not want to be happy'.]

"It's not that I can't feel joy, or happiness. It's more along the lines of they bring more painful emotions to the surface with them. Memories that were best left undisturbed. It's not that I don't want to be happy either. It's that I don't want to be happy if it means remembering all the suffering I have had to go through to get here, and all the suffering that I must continue to go through just to keep the universe the way it should be. I used to have Friends, Family, Students...  All of them are dead or out of my reach."
