Ian nods and goes about butchering vertex while he waits.

[SOLDIER First]

It is the expression of someone who is both asleep and happy, and also has their face pressed against someone else's leg.

There aren't any Vertex left. They aren't like Grimm, who tend to be everywhere, it seems.
Mio blinks.

[SOLDIER First]

Let her live, Mio. Let her live.
She sleeps silently.

Garnt stands in the spot where the Vertex was before he killed it, seemingly staring at something.
"Haaah... That beast was powerful, incredibly so. And there were more of its kind..."
Garnt chugs some Estus. It would not do to be caught off-guard, just in case more creatures like that one showed up.

Of all people, Garnt is the one who It That Embraces is watching at the moment. The Primordial seems to like people-watching.

Eirika suddenly mumbles something.

Before Mio can attempt to listen in on what Eirika is saying, the Jukai flashes white around everyone, before disappearing before their eyes in a rush of multicoloured flowers.
Afternoon
Kamogawa Middle School
School Rooftop

The party finds themselves dumped on what seems to be a roof of a rather large and wide building, overlooking a city below facing the sea. A kite flutters past, drawing the party's attention to what's surrounding them.

A group of masked men, with body armour and what appear to be guns of an unrecognisable make and model, are surrounding them. Their weapons are lowered, and they do not seem to be attacking just yet.

Ian looks around casually.
"Huh, I haven't been surrounded by masked men with guns in weeks. I was starting to think my luck had gone bad."

[SOLDIER First]

Eirika wakes up rather blearily, before leaping comically into a combat pose.
"Ghh... _{My head..}
W-who are you?"

[Twi]

It That Embraces is completely calm. Eerily calm, even.

[Hello, strangers. I hope you are not planning to harm my friends here. That would be unfortunate.]

It regards those masked men with a dangerous look. Those were definitely weapons, and weapons meant danger- which meant that the Primordial would be just as dangerous as She needed to be, to protect those around Her.
