See, under ideal circumstances for the other person? Sure, Alanis gets rekt. It comes with the territory of being pretty fragile compared to literally everyone else in the game.
But in a proper fight, its fifty-fifty odds all things considered on account of INIT rolls and whatnot.

Anyway, I don't think Alanis can one-round kill the vast majority of characters, who could probably wreck her in return.

Problem is, Alanis can do two things, stall and fight, and barring double turns they cannot do both.

So if they attack, and do not have a kinetic shell, they die.

Alanis wouldn't be a very good boss, as she simply doesn't have the defensive ability
but she COULD take on a few of the other characters in duels
