Pattern analysis is actually a core piece of AI, the ability to recognize the existence of patterns and to assign labels to inputs. Of course, this does not actually solve the issues of compatibility. Being able to recognize the existence of a pattern is not the same thing as knowing its contents, or being able to interface with it in the first place. It doesn't allow something to fix issues as potentially deep as binary non-binary differences.

Besides, even with translation, 6AR wouldn't have a device to connect with out networks anyway, or any open networks.

Actually, it's pretty relevant.

I do, because it directly impacts whether 6AR can do stuff, and whether several party members can communicate with the others outside of pantomime.

If your mystery is unraveled by a Google search, it is not a very well-hidden mystery.

Alanis would have done the exact same thing.  In fact, any character I am running that has a mobile device is probably going to search things.  Just want to make that clear.

They have a radio transmitter.  Also, cell networks.
