plot where the entire cast gets to kill thousands upon thousands of clones of alanis, complete with realistic blood, real screaming, and no magical bullshit

the real alanis, meanwhile, has been kidnapped and has to feel the pain of every single clone that dies

Well, I have an idea for a Fate/DnD plot, I could share those with you or run it myself. There's also the Touhou plot, which, while it came up as a joke, is something I'd totally be game for. We could also do something like a Fate/Grand Order plotline where we travel back in time and fix the continuity issues springing from Servants Trespassers running amok.

Any. Doesn't matter for what.
Timebomb [Level 1 Active Action]: Requires a dedicated Perk Slot to use. Apply 5 Timebomb Stacks to the target. After 5 Turns, roll Basic Attack and multiply it by the number of Timebomb Stacks left on the target, this is considered to be an attack with no source, rather than an Ailment Consequence (so dodging, blocking, RES, etc will still work against it). Dispellation will remove one Time Bomb Stack, not all of them. 5 Turn Cooldown.

Precedent is Heroic Barrage which also only deals damage on Turn 6 at the earliest, takes less RES into account (ignores Armor, while this just has one attack rather than a multi-attack), and has a 5 Turn cooldown. Yes that one has a 30% RES penalty, but it also has conditional instant death. The fact that dispellation can mitigate damage from this, the fact that the enemy will know exactly when it hits and who it hits, five turns in advance, and the fact that this one requires an entire Perk Slot to even use should more than make up for that. The 5 Timebomb Stacks at Level 1 is more of an absolute minimum.

Is this allowed? How many Timebomb Stacks may be applied at Level 1?

no, because saw forces you
that plot lets us

also it's probably one of those "big bad makes heroes break their trust" things because literally why would anyone want to murder alanis repeatedly

well i mean since 90% of the characters aren't insane and have moral standards and view alanis as a person, if an annoying one we probably won't murder her any time soon

I think where the Saw comparisons come in is that you have to kill the clones. The clones aren't her (being genetically identical doesn't make two people the same after all), but have similar capabilities, seek to kill the party, and have to be killed in order to rescue Alanis. I think that's the sort of situation he's talking about.

Which sort of falls flat because the people with Pure Damage can just pierce their defenses, and blow apart their brains with minimal pain and effort.
