I understand now that this is neither a fight where we are really supposed to "fight", nor is it one we were supposed to contribute much to, aside from a few people matching wits with the boss and playing cashier credit-card simulator.
I'm gonna call direct BS on this accusation. You're saying "it's railroading except for these pre-prepared things"... except I initiated the suit removal, and the banter is banter. You're just accusing Elf of railroading because of your particular skill not working.

Actually, I stated that other people's skills were not working, and once again, I have to say it again, it does not bother me enough to outright complain.

I never once called it railroading, I will say that the natural progression of things makes it a poor idea to try and engage the secondary boss now, since it is a proper duel, and the best possible way to take care of the mooks is to go card swiping.

The best way to get them vulnerable to card swiping, is, thus far, Raw Physical Violence.

These, unlike your BS accusation of me saying this is railroading, are Reasonable things to say about this situation.

I'm still having fun, I just also noted the trend of petrify being a running gag through all plots, excluding that one time she beat Bisnif in around 3 turns with it.  Dackly's Str and RES are high enough by now that Petrify can stay a joke for all I care, since she can just smash heads the old fashioned way.

Alright, I should probably take it down a notch.

But more civilly: You said that it wasn't a fight we were intended to contribute much to, which would state the existence  a pre-existing decision to not allow the players to influence things. You may not have called it railroading directly but that's what railroading is.

If it makes you feel better, I have statted a boss specifically so that it can eventually be petrified by Dackly.

Just mentioning that I'll be absent for the next four or so hours, so don't expect replies from me.

Okay. Well. I'm actually rather pissed off right now, so I'll make this brief.

1. As PM said, railroading necessitates me deciding not to let you influence the story at all.
2. This implies that I in fact made such a decision.
3. As PM has pointed out, other characters have made decisions that influenced the story (Evridiki's use of card swiping, 6AR's intervention with the fight between Jack and Haruka).
4. The argument seems to be that I should also allow decisions which are, in my opinion, pretty damn uninteresting (petrify/mind trick the whole crowd so there's basically no fight or the fight is too easy) to happen. Alternatively, that I should allow certain specialties and abilities to work when they literally make no sense (Contagion's poison gas working on people wearing helmets that specifically filter poisons). This specifically ignores instances where people's abilities have worked (Haruka and Evridiki healing people, Evridiki's Cryptobiolin syringe, Yamal's CIWS system, Wilson's VATS, 6AR's Force Push).

To that, I respond no. I have not railroaded, for the reasons stated above, and I'm frankly rather pissed off that I'm being accused of that. The one possible instance (Wilson being saved by Penelope) was agreed to by the player involved, to the extent he even asked me to quote something from a story about that precise scenario.

I never said that.  I did not accuse you of railroading because you aren't.

I'm done anyway, nothing good can come of this, like every other instance of me getting worked up.

I mean, for goodness sake, just start ignoring me if it is that bad.

I will say yet again that I don't care if Dackly's Petrify never works, she can just spec into physical damage and become a Monk-style melee bruiser instead of a specialist assassin.

Also, my goal was NEVER to Petrify the whole crowd, just to tag them all with hate stacks so they become petrified when they are weakened normally, before finding out that this is a non-lethal scenario.

Yamal's CIWS system
you know
on the one hand, I specifically said Yamal's MGs weren't exactly CIWS
and I didn't think of them as such
on the other hand
that is exactly what they act like in this frame and I should have realized it long ago :V

Hah HAH HAHAHAHAHAAH

Oh god this is good.

Volx's Instinct of the Guardian grants the user the ability to counterattack with a basic attack after they dodge an attack.

Donchaka's Basic attack is "Just Nonsense" Which deals a flat 1d6 damage.

A hilarious anti-synergy of epic proportions, this is going to be a fun turn for them i think, since they just accused the hulking mech warrior of using roids.

I need to change my action again before I boost the damage of a 1d6 attack...
