i say you should continue with the hero plot, because what i have in store for HERO and what YOU have in mind seem to be two very different things, if that Steam Chat was anything to go by

Maybe he doesn't go on adventures, but he fills a similar role to Steve in ER, hanging around the ship and acting as this shady overwatching character, offering advice but mostly snarky criticism.

I would, but unfortunately most the problem IS the dialogue. Whenever I try to type something out for him, especially his internal thoughts, because I feel awful if all I do is post a one-line response, I end basically just typing, editing and reworking it and then losing track of time. Not exactly ideal. I mean, the actual combat actions just amount to "Apply Debuff to Stat X" which don't really require much thought.

What I'm currently thinking is, I might just make a character and a purpose-built setting for them to originate from, and then post and run them during the inter-semester break instead. Dialogue shouldn't be as much of a problem for them, so long as I ensure that they don't require me to try and type out any sort of hardboiled detective monologue.
