• Essence Storm: Using the magic left in her own spilled lifeblood, Alanis unleashes a final spell. Allows the casting of one spell with a massive SYN boost on the first turn of being Unconscious.
  
• Parting Shot: A dire curse performed using the blood of its own caster. A devastating debuff and/or status limit break performed on a target of choice when Alanis is rendered unconscious.
  
• Final Incantation: A magic-siphoning spell that allows another to call upon the power of the caster. Buffs either the whole party or another character, probably in the SYN department when Alanis is rendered unconscious.

but that doesn't provide me with any concrete mechanical information at all. the sheet mentions equipment as being "level 1" but i am not sure what this means.

Also, do we get three perks or four?

You get four perks. If you have levelled equipment, it's at level 6, go read some of the RWBY sheets for details on that.

Generally, until I get a decent example sheet, use everyone else's sheets as examples.

Overwhelming Magic(1):Alanis empowers an attack with raw magic, ensuring a hit and negating all resistances.   Has a cooldown or something.

Is there a dodginess that Dexterity governs or does it just govern ranged attack?

• Preemptive Counter: If the target uses a Magical attack this turn, Alanis will use that same attack on them. Yes, she fires their own spell at them before they even finish casting. Their attack still goes through, she just fires first.
  
• Chimeric Bolt: Condenses all the damage dealt by magical attacks mad by the party this turn and unleashes it upon a single foe.
  
• Final Stand: Boosts Alanis' SYN for every downed ally. Scaling is proportional to her Level and inversely proportional to her CON. Yep, it relies on the glass cannon remaining a glass cannon and still outliving her allies, but the boost ought to be pretty high
  
• Adrenaline: Untapped Potential's SYN gain rate is increased when Alanis is critical, debuffed or affected by a status effect.
  
• Equipment Burst: Overloads a piece of equipment with its user's permission, greatly increasing its power for the duration of the effect. When the effect ends, that piece of equipment is destroyed, leaving nothing useful behind. Good for desperation attacks, or just as a way to make use of obsolete gear one last time. Also has good synergy with Ian's Big Game Hunter since that can acquire crafting materials for equipment to be used as fodder for this.
