We already fought one and that didn't get a grimdark 'oh it's hopeless to fight it' description. And it also seems to not follow the rules of trespassers we were given, I.E. They take the form of deadly things from the world they're invading.

Said description also went 'oh they just smacked it into no longer being invincible'. If you're going to use something to claim it's turned grimdark, at least read the whole damn thing.
