I forget how alcohol works biologically, but if they can eat stuff, I see no reason why they can't get drunk, even if the effects might be unpredictable due to all that mind control/conditioning/whatever.

Maybe some sort of residual habit? Something they used to do before they became what they are now. Little more than a reflex, utterly pointless to his agenda, a reminder of who he once was, even if he himself cannot remember. Something like that. I remember reading somewhere that the splicers might wear masks because they might still have a bit of humanity left in them and they're ashamed of what they've become, so I was thinking it might be something like that.

There are rumors told that out in the woods of California there are two abandoned forts from when the Spanish controlled the area. The Transcendent queen rules this one. A figure in a queenly dress and tear stained blind fold, if not for the machines all around and within her, she would be a husk. Her clothes are splattered with blood, perhaps that of a previous victim? Her skin is a dark grey, with parts of the machines keeping her alive sticking through in some places. Her hair is long and red, and seems to not have been affected by her transformation into a living computer monstrosity, the likes of which Motya would be proud to work with. All and all, even though she's got some flaws, she quite beautiful, regal even. It's a pity that she has long forgotten the script of man in favor of the language of the machines.

Dr.[Redacted]: Phil was quite good in finding this one for me. A drow slave that never knew kindness in her life. How could I not take her in, feed her, care for her... Hell, She actually trusts me. When I mentioned that I was looking for some volunteers for my new experiments she jumped at the chance. After that I started letting her have the run of the base. Everyone was cold to her sure, but she found love in Dave...
I... feel sorry for what we did, I truly am. I thought I was doing good, that she'd be fine... Oh gods, I need to stop the other scientists... if they continue on the way they are, even I won't be able to control them. I'm going to tell Phil to stop organizing kidnappings for the moment. At least I can trust him.
