Point for TBF to consider:  If it is a virus, it could just not be able to infect the other characters because they aren't all the same race due to universey stuff.
Or, it could just be Sandra not being the same race in general.

That's exactly what Alanis thinks happened.  A single massive mutation/gene edit/she was born with that potentially a thing.  She's pushing against other theories.
