I used a recipe for the amounts in the batter, but added my own ingredients, yeah, it was a crumb cake, due to a lack of petrification magic to make it stiffer.

The rock candy was a nice touch, but it worked best if you ate it last, since I used pretty big chunks.

You also could taste the lemon juice, but it wasn't sour at all.

    1 cup white sugar

    1/2 cup butter

    2 eggs

    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice

    2 Teaspoons Cinnamon

    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

    1/2 cup milk

    As many large Pieces of Rock Candy as there will be slices of cake, Varied flavors.



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners.

    In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, Lemon Juice, and Cinnamon. Combine flour and baking powder in separate bowl, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan, and add Rock Candy to the middle of each predicted Slice.

    Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch, coat surface in frosting or Cinnamon sugar, Bakers choice

Thanks. I need to make cake for my ethics classes as we have a tradition of bringing in cake every Friday for everyone to have.

I cooked it for about 35 Minutes, but mine was also a bit doughy, so I would recommend it.
