So, in many of my experiences in the wide variety of selections that is Forum Games and Roleplay, games tend to eventually fall into one of two categories.
We have the mostly serious, Roleplay/plot based threads (like this one) or threads that have the goal of just having fun. Keep in mind that some threads will often disguise themselves as others. Our Salvation, for example, has a ridiculous rule set and plot premise, yet it handles itself very seriously, and does NOT forgive if you balls things up. Castle Foxhound appears to be set in a dark, dystopian setting with lots of depression, lost hopes and broken morals, yet in reality the PCs are some of the most intelligent and humourous I've ever seen. (Frazz for World Chancellor 2050)
I'd like to find a blend between the two. While I have been somewhat infamous for being a goofball, I also a very, VERY strong streak for serious/deadly storylines that usually I don't involve because I sometimes accidentally end up Too serious.
Now, Tresspassers interested me because of its basic premise. Almost every thread that's not strictly Original Character will have characters from every sort of corner of fandom and nerdom. However, Tresspassers openly invites people to do this, which is something you see very rarely. Furthermore, it manages a good 1000 pages (and hopefully still counting). Also, the changing of Story-GMs was also a genius idea. Kept it nice and fresh
Basically, what I would like to ask is if I could have permission to do a spinoff of this game. It would most likely be much smaller, probably a max of like 10 players, and I wouldn't infringe on storylines at all. Matter of fact, I'm basically asking if I can start a game with the exact same beginning concept, but different plot, characters, etc. It would read as like a fanfic. But a good fanfic.
So, yeah.
Please let me know
