For one, Maria hard-counters Alanis. Alanis relies on projectile magic to attack.

Maria's Perfect Poise, Firenze Nullifier Device and Elegant Vantage make it difficult to hit Maria and counters any Kinetic Shell shenanigans she might pull. And once Maria reaches Tempo Maxima, Alanis is more or less stuffed once Maria gets her to low enough health (which is more than Alanis currently has) to kill her with Tiro Finale Maxima. Of course, basic Tiro Finale might do well depending on how low Alanis is at that point.

Mio also soft-counters via Heavenward Strike dealing more damage to Alanis the more Alanis' Untapped Power grows, for another thing. Of course, Mio could also go for the Piercing Strike and go through her Kinetic Shell or just go for the plain God Hand to eat her alive. And her Kinetic Shell won't survive through Full Bloom.

No, Alanis's magic isn't projectile.

Well, people can reck post-nerf Alanis. Pre-nerf, uh, unless you get the first shot off? Good luck doing shit, because otherwise you are in for a hard time.
No, Alanis's magic isn't projectile.
Kinetic whatever is a projectile tho

Then it's ranged. Which is what Maria's passives counter anyway. Unless you mean to tell me Alanis intends to go up and try to rush a sniper from long range.

Wait, you actually did name it Tiro Finale?

...Also, I need to think of a "Finishing Move" for Victoria.

Charisma is blatantly not willpower, Will checks are Wis based
Chartre is also a hard counter to Alanis for reasons obvious
She won't even get off a Kinetic Shell because Poise near ensures Chartre goes first

Petrify hard counters Alanis without godmodding.  Even if Alanis throws up a full kinetic barrier, petrify is made of light, and specifies that it ignores everything but petrify immunity.

Petrify is also not magic or a spell, so counterspell is a no go, since it uses Int.

And if it petrifies the kinetic barrier, Alanis gets to be in the stone time out box.

Also, Alanis has to beat 20 RES to damage either Dackly or Gozer.

Unless Phazon is nerfed, it also wreaks havoc, 60 turns of poison damage from Dackly's basic if petrify is subverted, And of course, a target has to make a str check, so Gozer could push a kinetic shell away without fail since it has no Str.

Well once Aesford installs a proper simulation device in the ship then we can settle all of these hypotheticals once and for all.

Yes, it is actually called Tiro Finale. She's Italian now. :P

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

Could Alanis actually hurt Anna to any considerable degree?

Could Alanis actually hurt Anna to any considerable degree?
...even with stats? Yes, very much so.

Realism states that Alanis got gibbled the first time, since petrify ignores defenses and triggers when they are at their most vulnerable.

Realism is just an excuse to ignore balanced statistics to gain an advantage.  If there are rulings, you follow the rulings, if there aren't, you make rulings.

I thought we were talking about Alanis as a theoretical boss fight, in which case stats would matter.
