Context being I pointed out that there are those more powerful than PCs who might be broken free. I mean, a Hunter-in-training would likely remember at least one fully fledged Hunter who came before. A football player would probably remember one of the legends who once graced the field. Not to mention that some of the characters lost plenty of people dear to them, just off-screen.

The debate really just comes down to "that might break the game and does nothing constructive" versus "it'd be odd for people to not remember the people who died offscreen, therefore plan ahead for how to limit it".

The context isn't in this thread partially.

Elf is planning a plot where deceased characters from this game, other games, and outside of this game will show up as the group goes to some kind of multiverse afterlife to get help. Emp suggested breaking out a ton of characters or severely OP ones, and got verbally stabbed.
